Yearbyred
Weather looks set fair for the first match at the newly named Ecco Arena. Not sure what to expect in terms of result with a few new faces for both teams, just hoping for a good safe meeting and a decent crowd. Diamonds85
Expecting a pretty comfortable win for the Bears tbh, but I'm just excited that the season is upon us. It may take the likes of Lee and George a few weeks to settle in and show us what they're capable of. Fingers crossed it will be a closer result than I'm expecting... I'm gonna say 55-35 to the Bears. Good luck to all riders. Edited March 25, 2022 by Diamonds85

Certainly a good early benchmark for the reserves with the Redcar pairing probably the lowest combined averages in the league (but certainly capable) against the new and returning Diamonds pair. Also intrigued to see how BWD copes as a number 1? personally i think he has what it takes but a lot will depend on him this year.

Jenkins should be the highest scoring reserve, but expect Edwards to score 1-2 & Congreave 0-1.

Bellers101
Has the potential to be a cricket score in Redcar's favour this meeting.

Very impressed with him when was guesting for the enemy at the end of last season

lewy
Jason Edwards is a great prospect and will prove to be a good signing for Redcar imo.

I don't think Edwards is particularly weak, but after heat 2, he meets the 1+2 / 3+4 pairings, with Newcastle having a solid top 5, it's a difficult position (number 6)! Top notch punditry that. Looks like Roynon's pop at the Diamonds has inspired him more than the bad place.

Bellers101
60 - 29. Newcastle did better than I expected to be fair.
Bagpuss
I think BWD, Complin and Congreve are all going to take several meetings to get up to whatever speed they are capable of, and Starke was a big miss. Plus Redcar look one of the better teams so it's not and shouldn't be complete doom and gloom for Newcastle.
