Bernard 'Bronco' Slade was a 1939 Crystal Palace junior. Between 1947 and 1949 he rode for Exeter and was later team manager.

Had a motorcycle garage to the left of the main gate to the County Ground. Raced "Karts" in his later years. Former Exeter press officer Tony Lethbridge would have a lot more information.

Why don't you just message his grandson, Mattie Bates?

Thank you RoundTheBoards. I made my opening query in regard to 'Bronco' Slade to see if any supporters recalled him in his roles at Exeter Speedway and in later years. I am not seeking personal data about him which a message to Mattie Bates may only result in.

Perhaps John didn't know about the relationship.

As  usual, all the usual suspects jump in with both feet. :rolleyes:
