Guest
THE 2022 SPEEDWAY SEASON STARTS ON SUNDAY 20th FEBRUARY AT PARADISE WILDLIFE PARK The World Speedway Riders' Association will be staging its regular Celebration of Speedway pre-season warm up day to the new season at Paradise Wildlife Park on Sunday 20th February 2022. The tried and trusted format will again be in place with outdoor displays, marquee memorabilia, the National Speedway Museum and the Memorial Garden all vital parts of this annual attraction. The cost of admission is £12.50 per person but, due to PWP regulations, those wishing to attend MUST pre-book their tickets by logging in to: https://www.pwpark.com/events/celebration-of-speedway-2/ Paradise Park is still restricted in the number of visitors it can admit, so attendance will be on a first come, first served basis – hence the need to book well in advance. Visitors will be able to see: ● The magnificent National Speedway Museum with the special Jack Parker display, which was unveiled to guests at the WSRA's Summer Lunch in July. A unique JAP speedway bike that former World Speedway Championship runner-up Eric Langton rode in 1947 ● The enlarged Memorial Garden complete with tribute plaques of countless former riders, flower beds and comfortable benches ● Outdoor displays featuring speedway clubs, bikes from all eras, race jackets etc etc. ● A pits area featuring speedway machines from the sport's beginning up to the present day, fired up every hour under the watchful eye of Peterborough promoter and former rider Richard Greer ● A marquee full of speedway memorabilia including programmes, magazines, body colours, photographs, speedway annuals, badges and much more. There will also be a WSRA stall where members can renew their subscription if they haven't already done so and where non-members can join the club ● Executives from Travel Plus Tours will be on hand to take bookings and give comprehensive details of trips to all next season's Speedway Grand Prix events ● Top speedway announcer Craig Saul will be interviewing riders and officials, and keeping all visitors informed of what is going on WSRA chairman Bert Harkins said: “We were forced to cancel this year's Celebration due to the Covid-19 pandemic. I feel sure that speedway fans from far and wide will want to be at PWP next February and meet up with all their friends. “The event always attracts a lot of riders and there will be countless opportunities for photographs. The licensed bar will be open throughout the day and food will be available from the barbecue. All purchases made at the park (except for items bought from the marquee memorabilia stalls) must be made by debit or credit card.” Harkins also said the WSRA events sub-committee were working actively towards announcing a number of other initiatives for the Celebration of Speedway that will be unveiled in the near future. Anyone wanting to exhibit or display should email: bertharkins@btinternet.com

Technik
14 hours ago, racers and royals said: Anyone go ? was it good ? It was OK all things considered I think attendance of both public & stall holders was down on previous years but with the issues of having to get tickets on-line prior to the event then the Covid & finally the weather warnings. It was looking reasonable at 9:30 but the weather went downhill quite quickly. We left just after 1:00PM happy that we had been but also happy to be on the way home before the next storm hit. No doubt we will be back there next year rain or shine
