Unless riders are being paid good money, they will find excuses not to turn up.

definitely needs to be an incentive instead of standard BSPL money.

they should do the British Final over a number of meetings

Is there any stipulation on what riders form the pair? Is it the top two fit riders by average or can a team send track specialists or just riders in form who may currently be 3rd or lower in the team averages?

Dunno if it will be the same in the Premier version of the event, but in the Championship in recent years teams have been allowed to nominate any 2 from their top 3 in the current averages

While the concept is good the area where it will fail will be the standard pay rates for the riders.
there will be van breakdowns and many other various reasons why they can’t attend.
the riders will treat it with contempt and fans will attend and get disillusioned with multiple programme changes and the whole thing will be binned after this season.

Miss a meeting for no good reason then a 28 day ban surely?

Any injury or illness means you 'stand down' for 28 days also...

(To help you get that so desperately needed recuperation obviously)... ;)

Wont happen though as we know,,  given the top two from each team are involved and therefore 'vital' to all the teams....

However, as has been said, pay rates will be the make or break I would think...

As from your home leg you will need to find enough money to pay 50 races combined from your top two riders in the five away legs...

Or maybe the home team pays all costs of the other five in attendance..?

If that was the case then you would think basic pay rates will be the order of the day..

15 heats of racing from your top two in each team will need a few bob if you pay them their 'normal money'...

Or who knows? Maybe a key sponsor has been found to fund the championship?

Be a very good concept if done well...

And it also means the Aces can enter a team..:D

Maybe there should be an extra couple of quid on entrance fee,, and that couple of quid goes into the Prize money for the winners,,, so maybe over 10 grand to the winners, maybe then the top riders may want to race in it.  Obviously the more paying fans that attend,, the bigger the prize pot. And surly more would attend for all the best riders.

£10k for the winners :lol:

Doyle, Fricke & Woffinden will want that just to get out of bed

Would be interesting if they stipulated every rider must feature twice with the rising star a track reserve to be used at any time

So 6 riders in a team 6 rounds, Ipswich may go for

@ home

King & Riss

@ wolves

Heeps & Batchelor

@ kings lynn

Starke & Doyle

@Peterborough

Riss & Heeps

@belle vue

Batchelor & Starke

@sheffield

King & Doyle

For me anyway would make it more interesting each rider doing 2 rounds

That makes the event less attractive.

Places would be empty if there's meetings where the No2/No4 & No6 race. .

It has to be fixed to be a pairing from the top 3 in the team averages otherwise there's just going to be no interest at all to attend.

The problem with all pairs events is you only see your team's pair in 5 heats

You'll see your pair in 5 of the 15 heats.

In the old BLRC you only saw your rider in 5 of the 20 heats.  But they still packed 25,000 into Hyde Road to see the 16 best riders in the league.

With only 6 Premiership teams, you can hardly have a 6 rider BLRC.   This is the best way to have the best riders in the league all in a meeting together.   If they get it right and make sure every team sends their top 2 to every round, it could be a success... but there's always that word "IF".

Really they should be launching this as a big series and have a big headline sponsor.   I hope they get it right because it could be very good... but equally, they could get it very wrong.
