Birmingham Brummies 2022

Okay based on riders already signed and who I believe maybe available.

Adam Ellis 7.57

Josh Auty 7.16

Ash Morris 4.68

James Shanes 4.87

Paco Castangna 5.52

Claus Vissing 8.43

Dillon Ruml or Josh Macdonald 4.00

Of course a lot depend upon what the Promotion's budget is, but at the end of the day does anyone on this Forum know what Birmingham's budget is.

But it shows what can be achieved with building a team with possible riders out there, who don't have clubs in the Championship.

Might be reading too much in to this but watched a highlights video of a french league match adam ellis rode in

He had meridian lifts as a sponsor on his kevlars, so im going to say he will be at poole

So does Hans Andersen, but he signed for Plymouth.

I believe that Poole will go with Steve Worrall, Danny King and Richard Lawson as their heatleader trio.

Summers has retired, Shanes and Morris have already signed with Birmingham and I think Ty Proctor won't be returning to British speedway next season. I still believe Bates, Castagna and Sedgmen have a lot to offer a team though and would be worth the risk in the middle order of a team.

If they are the only riders available, there's certainly no risk in using them!

How about Josh Grajczonek could be the number 1 you need?

As well as Sidewinder says Birmingham might not have the sponsors license to bring in a Non European, which not only rule out Grajczonek but Ruml and MacDonald.

Also Grajczonek I believe now has a very well paid job back in Oz and it might have to be an exceptional deal to bring over here to race.

Grajczonek is European, he uses Polish ancestry to ride in Poland (who'd have guessed with a name like that!)

The problem is that since brexit European riders need work permits too.

If there is problems in regards to signing non british riders cos permit issues the something like the below could fit

Auty 7.16

Shanes 4.87

Bates 6.20

Bacon 5.07

Ellis 7.57

Morris 4.68

Jack Smith 3   = 38.53

Riders with EU paperwork

Vissing 8.43

Shanes 4.83

Auty 7.16

Castagna 5.52

Covatti 7.57

Morris 4.68

Smith 3 = 41.18

Auty 7.16

Bates 6.20

Sedgman 5.59

Castagna 5.52

L bjerre 7.30

Morris 4.68

Shanes 4.84 = 41.32

Covatti 7.57

Bacon 5.07

Auty 7.16

Castagna 5.52

Bjerre 7.30

Morris 4.68

Shanes 4.84 = 42.15

Vissing 8.43

Bates 6.20

Sedgman 5.59

Castagna 5.52

Auty 7.16

Morris 4.68

Shanes 4.84 = 42.29

Just a few ideas based on rode last year and in 2019 who doesnt have a club up to now.

Im not sure what average bacon and bates will start on as they didnt ride enough mates to have their average reassesed during 2021

Not sure on the starting averages for Covatti and Bjerre but based on last average in 2019

Covatti and castagna could be a nice duo. Do the italian / argentian scene together and i think brum is covattis parent club

I guess the BOSS knows who he's signing....I suppose we are going to get drip fed as it keeps the B'ham forum post alive and helps towards pushing the club in the spotlight ?

I still think Smolinski will be the big one!

Martin Smolinski will not be at Birmingham or any other British club.

Some positive suggestions there....you've certainly done your home work.

Tom Bacon is a very interesting suggestion. (Local lad, previous fans favourite....may be slightly ahead of Shanes/Morris on his day...but probably a bit rusty .)

I'd certainly give Jack Smith another go and Covatti would be a dream signing.

P.s Morris/Shanes at reserve would blow most other teams reserves away.

Oh yes I’m sure the Birmingham management are thinking about the speedway forum a lot

Not sure if you're being sarcastic?  (If they're not, then they need to be.....)

I think you'll find that LR (Boss) is a regular poster on here.
