That's not good news, if the stock cars struggle,  going to be hard for speedway there again. I know the Dugards are speedway/motorsport through and through, just hope it doesn't get to a point where the only viable option is planning/houses.:(

Arlington Stadium has been put forward for housing more than once under a procedure where land owners can ask the planning authority to consider their land for new houses. Anyone can put their land forward and even if accepted for consideration there is no automatic right to planning permission. No formal planning application has been made, as far as I know.

YOU SIR ARE UTTER SCUM, NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU TRY TO BACKTRACK THIS COMMENT IS OFF THE SCALE OFFENSIVE AND WILL ALWAYS BE ACCREDITED TO YOU.

I WONDER HOW YOUR DEAD AND INJURED RELATIVES FEEL ABOUT THEIR LIVING LEGACY. I NOTICE THAT IN YOUR PROFILE YOU AGE IS 60. 60 AND YOU POST LIKE A TEENAGE TROLL.

SERIOUSLY, YOU NEED TO HAVE A WORD WITH YOURSELF.

Go away snowflake,  I myself suffered serious injuries in the Falklands,  losing a leg and part of my right arm plus 30% burns to my upper body, I get called all sorts of names by people on the street,  I don't get offended because that's society today,  don't tell me about crude and cruel remarks I get them on a daily basis,  so before you call someone SCUM,  think about what people go through,  or at least get to know them,  how dare you call me scum,  I have served and fought for my country and I would do it all over again,  I bet you are one of these people who take offence to everything said,  you need to learn to grow up and have a word with yourself,  it's a snow flake society and I bet you are right at the top of it,  bore off

My second visit to Perry Barr last night as I was craving some speedway after the lions weren't riding last weekend.

Positives- Track can produce some decent racing. I liked the main grand stand and the facilities in there were good. Getting there isn't as bad now.. now the road works have calmed down. The Birmingham folk were friendly along with other supporters

Negatives- I felt disconnected from the action as you can't get that close to the track. The viewing is restricted in certain areas of the stadium. The support is low considering its in a major city. Parking is an issue with it only being open from 5 onwards. Didn't feel  and look like a long term home for the brummies

Only my opinion ofcourse but I don't get to many away meetings part from Leicester. In the end I will be back there to support the lions next year.

car park opening at 5.30 is normal ---  have to wait on volunteers arriving to man it and as gates don't open till 6 then this works for the club.  It is the Brummies home for as long as an agreement can be reached with the landlords .

I've just listened to Nigel Tolley on this week's British Speedway podcast and very interesting it was too.

A number of things sprang to mind while listening... although he did sound very positive about Birmingham's future it's not anything we all haven't heard before from various promoters at various clubs down the years, the proof of the pudding will ultimately be in the eating. A lot of it, I would suspect, hinges on the "verbal" agreement with the stadium landlords, I just hope their word is as good as their bond when they open their energy bills in October and January!

He also said he was very disappointed that they didn't see any benefit from the City hosting the Commonwealth Games. I accept that they couldn't run during the week of the games, as it turns out due to noise issues, which nobody on here mentioned amongst their other fantasy suggestions, but when they could run, the night before the opening ceremony, they put on a run of the mill league match against Poole, if you don't know anything about Speedway then Birmingham vs Poole? So what? Who cares? As it turned out nobody really!

I hope Birmingham do make it to the tapes next season and unless he's on a multi year contract at Berwick I can see Chris Harris making a return to Perry Barr.

Would be very surprised is Harris returned to Perry Barr.

I was surprised when he went in the first place, he does like to get signed up early though and it's very local

I appreciate what you did for this country and the sacrifice you made. However, that makes you throw away comment about gas attacks even more outrageous.

I'm a Heart of Midlothian supporter and now in a very very very small way co-owner of the club. In 1914 when top of the Scottish football league 16 Hearts players signed up to join the war effort. 7 of them died in conflict and many others suffered wounds that cut short their lives.

So yes I get a little triggered when someone compares sporting injuries to attacks in WW1 trenches.

The thing is everybody gets offended by everything, this is a country that puts its ex servicemen on the back burner and forgets, without trying to come across as political I find that certain members of our communities can object to the wearing of poppies, object to the showing of the George Cross flag and nothing is done about it, I find it strange that without the sacrifices of 2 world wars, these very people would not be enjoying the freedoms they have now, I served in the middle East, Berlin(a guard at spandau prison) Northern Ireland, and the Falklands, i am proud of my duties to my country but the sacrifices made, make me say was it worth it the way the world as gone now, anyway back to speedway from now on and hopefully Brummies can put a decent team together for 2023, being honest I, d change the manager first
