What`s the "Nordic qualifier " all about in the European U19 championships(see seperate thread)- allocations a bit unfair on the Finns ??

We dont have even that one after Roni Niemelä quit the sport un-expectedly in winter time. Nothing unfair about it.

Nordic qualifier is a relic of ancient times in various disciplines of track racing. Designed to cut cost for the Nordic FMNs through a deal where no prize money is paid. What it actually has done in my time, is produce a not so level playing field of opposition for the Finnish riders, especially in U21 speedway.

Not that we’ve had title contenders for years, but the Nordic quali was the toughest of the all by a country mile for years.
