If he was rotten, why use him as a guest or try to sign him? "IF", was one of the reasons why Rob Grant quit before changing his mind.

He was replaced mid season because he was rotten. Simple as that..maybe go read my previous posts about Barker and when he has point to prove. Save you going over old ground again :t:.

All conjecture, seen no evidence of it

I was encouraged by Sunday. To beat a pretty strong Stoke select containing a couple of Brough specialists with a non contributing #1 and a brand new #7 made me hope for a decent set of home results as even if BWD and Congreve don’t meet their averages but do improve, then I think the rest of the team will carry us over the line more often than not.

I expect a few hammerings away but that doesn’t tend to affect the crowds at home which is the main thing for now.

Not sure why I keep reading about Newcastle facing a "strong" Stoke side?

Steve Worrall (9.05)

James Sarjeant (4.08)

Ricky Wells (6.59)

Leon Flint (5.89)

Ben Barker (6.87)

Connor Coles (2.00)

Joe Alcock (2.00)

Total: 36.48

That team average is well below the Championship 42.00 limit.

Does makes sense for Newcastle to start off against a "weak" side to gain confidence ahead of official matches, but they'll certainly find it tougher from now on!

You have just proved that averages don’t tell the whole story of team strength. It was a strong Stoke team at Brough Park. It had 2 former Newcastle #1’s and another rider who usually rides Brough very well. On paper, they should have won but as we all know, speedway isn’t run on paper.

The idea was that many of the riders had ridden for, or had a connection, with Stoke, as a memory to Dave Tattum.

The side had riders who are pretty useful around Brough, so the averages are pretty obsolete, IMO.

Seen a tweet from justin sedgmen this morning. Hes back in the uk and looking for a team place.

Certainly worth a look on a 5.55 average?

A suppose in some situations, 'patiently waiting' could mean that folks aren't queuing up for your services? ;)

Judging by his quotes last season couldn’t make money,so he won’t come cheap.Certainly wouldn’t pay over the odds for him.

A thought in this game, the more points you score led to making you more money,,, maybe that bits been overlooked?

That’s the case with a lot of riders nowadays, mediocre riders draining Clubs finances. That wont change anytime soon though.Clubs will just fold.
