What's his excuse for last.night then? I'm fully aware of his time at Eastbourne which was a very different experience at the level they were at! He should at least go through the card at Plymouth on 11th then.

He was scoring big points  at Championship level whilst at Eastbourne.

As for last night you could have picked any of the other Six  on last nights performances.

But you decide to pick an upcoming British youngster Strange.

Very strange. What these Poole fans don't seem to get is that their team is amazingly good on their own track, they always have been. Experienced riders, even those who have ridden for Poole in the past, can be made to look silly there by the home riders. The Cooks have picked up numerous scalps for example.

As for Brennan, if he can crack Poland then whether or not he can ride Poole or the small ones is completely irrelevant, its about riding the big ones well nowadays. If he wants to emulate Woffinden, Lambert and Bewley instead of King, Worrall and Lawson then it's all about Wroclaw rather than Wolves!

Interesting, considering riders like Darcy advise the young Aussie riders to do UK first rather than going straight to Poland.

Also Jason Crump has said Tai needs to do UK again.

I didn't start on Tom. I was just following on previous comments as to his abilities in both Premiership and Championship

But Brennan has started in the UK, buy if he wants to make it big his next step needs to be progressing in Poland. No coincidence that Lambert and Bewley's development has exploded since they have been riding Extraliga.

Whether Tai needs to specifically do Britain again or just another league (Sweden) or maybe both I don't know but I think more racing would help his GP performances although spending time with his family during the week is a pretty good reason not to.

The main point though us that mastering Monmore, Armadale or Plymouth won't make Brennan a GP rider.

What Poole do is peak at the right time, Ben and Zach would never have ridden like that earlier in the season, they have improved massively lately.

Ulrich Ostergaard has announced his retirement today

Ulrich has been great for speedway over the years and has done a sterling job for Glasgow in the last two. Wishing him all the best for the future. I think he’s doing the right thing at the right time….although I know he’s gonna really miss it.

Very well put.  Am sure many would agree with that - he has been a great asset to UK Speedway over the years.  A high speed Ulle was always great to watch and gave his all.  Like many great riders though - serious injuries have blighted their careers and with Ulle the last two seasons in  particular have maybe signalled to him that it was time to bow out gracefully.  Always enjoyed his races with Glasgow, Peterborough and others before.  He might actually make a good T.V. pundit in future like Tony Rickardsson, Sudden Sam and Chris Louis as he had a wealth of experience behind him ?  Happy retirement and thanks for the thrills !

With riders like Ulrich you always do have a feeling that this might be the first of at least a couple of retirements....;)

He certainly has seen the inside of too many hospitals, but he also certainly entertained the fans far more than most with his all action riding style, and never give up attitude...

Hope he finds whatever he does in retirement fulfilling and he enjoys it....

I've come out of hiding to put my thanks to ulle for his time with the stripes. Might only have been 2 half seasons but endeared himself with the fans quickly during that time and was for more success than I for one ever thought he would be. Best wishes for the next stage of your life hope make a full recovery from the injuries

Isn't Claus vissing on about a 5 average after his Birmingham stint? Given rumours of a 40 or less point limit fancy he'll be high on our priority list for next season

Yeah, just checked. Exactly 5 for October. Bargain average if you can get him going!

Will be interesting what Glasgow do if no Basso or Cook, they have a higher average than any of Poole's top 3!
