jenga
looking on the bright side of this fixture rubbish , or lack of them . looks like it could be the end of full time riders in the uk ! they may have to get a full time job and do speedway part time again , like back in the 70s .the best days ever for the sport in the uk . Me too. Put bikes on the track and I'll happily turn up to watch them. As others have said, the real problem is clubs having control over fixtures. If you give them control, they will manipulate it - why wouldn't you, if it helps you? Take control away from the clubs. Tell them who they're racing, and when. Let them deal with the consequences. They'll find riders if they have to.

With Peterborough running again next year it will hopefully be back on the fixture list. Always one of the best days out at Speedway when held at the Showground.

FishersGate
It's ridiculous how the final is spread over 3 legs. I'd have loved a one off final at a neutral venue. It would feel like a FA cup final at Wembley. Could done it at belle Vue with coaches from each club taking fans.

Can understand each club wanting a healthy attendance at their track but it's an opportunity missed, especially as it was agreed on in the winter. The fact that more money is generated for each club but that's it.

This way everyone has a home track advantage. Have it at Sheffield where 2 Leicester riders ride doesn't seem fair to me!

Based on Leicester's support I reckon a few hundred would have made the trip if the club could sort out travel and a discount on tickets. Along with Poole and glasgow fans and a few hundred locals your looking at over a thousand. Financially it may not work but as a spectacle it would be a great evening

Hence why as a Leicester fan, you don’t see a problem with it, but the Glasgow/Poole fans aren’t so keen.

I'd just like the idea of a cup final to it.

Sure Leicester have a couple of riders at Sheffield but Cook and Nicol have ridden for them reasonably recently as have King and Kemp. I get the neutral / non neutral argument but I just think it's a pity as it could have been something different and have had a special occasion feel about it, a little like the fours. And I understand each team wanting to have a home leg. Edited September 17, 2022 by Bagpuss
LisaColette
Anyway Poole Vs Glasgow if we score 31 at Plymouth. Leicester have picked Edinburgh

Assuming Cook most likely to be back? R/R for Hume and then whether Ulle back. Will have to have a nosy about guest, prob be Flint. Seems to be guesting in each tie atm!
