Isn't Claus vissing on about a 5 average after his Birmingham stint? Given rumours of a 40 or less point limit fancy he'll be high on our priority list for next season

what or who are you hiding from ?

you dont need 2 moaners in your team . the current one is enough !

Yeah, just checked. Exactly 5 for October. Bargain average if you can get him going!

Will be interesting what Glasgow do if no Basso or Cook, they have a higher average than any of Poole's top 3!

He was certainly very good in his last stint for us. It's interesting one, reducing the points limit at same time as reducing matches in GSA's from 20 to 10 matches. Might actually find the higher averaged riders struggling for a job. Sam masters for example excellent though he is taking up a quarter or more of your points limit is it worthwhile?

And Josh Pickering's is just under 9! If Edinburgh are allowed another year at Armadale and points limit is 38, then how do you make that work? Have to get rid of nearly 5 points. Their team average is only 0.3 lower than Poole's! I'm hoping for a trophy to show for ours before getting rid of 5 points!! :(

Anyway back to Glasgow, I got a bit sidetracked as usual!

Do you think they are trying to create a bigger gap between the leagues cos they are starting to do away with doubling up? Chris Louis did say it would have to be done over a few seasons. You couldn't just implement it over night.

I'd probably say they're trying to discourage teams from signing guys with averages of over 8.5 and forcing them up into the premiership, which I know is what a lot of people have called for on here.

But if money in the prem doesn't make up for the loss of earnings in the champ and they can't get rides abroad will they just chuck it? Sure sedgy that said it wasn't worthwhile in UK unless ride both leagues.

Hans Andersen also said similar, that is why Poole helped to get him fixed up with Plymouth. But he did also have Denmark!

It would prob work for riders like Dougie, Nick Morris and Sam Masters. As they all have at least Poland anyway. Though not sure if they are all in top league there? Sure they would not find it to hard to get a place in Sweden if needs be. But not sure about riders like King, and both Worrall's though they are under the 8.5 bracket.

Actually Richie is 8.51 and Howarth is 8.88!!!

I doubt it will be as low as 40 points next season considering the loss of Newcastle earlier in the season and now Edinburgh no more and Leicester rumoured to be going into the top flight. That would reduced the league to 8 teams and would probably leave star attractions like Sam Masters out of the Championship considering his average would be more than a quarter of any teams building limit.

Ultimately, the speedway authorities will try their best to ruin what's left of speedway. That seems to be their reason for existing.

They will ruin all leagues to protect the Premiership. Always has been whether it was Elite League, Division 1 etc. They may be under pressure from Discovery Eurosport to enhance the product as its a pretty poor spectacle as is. Leicester will add nothing to that IMO. It needs more teams to join as uneven number means there is always someone not riding that week, or fortnight, or month!

I’m assuming they’re trying to prevent teams having 3 heat leaders, leaving teams like Birmingham scraping the barrel to get a 38 point team when the limits 42.

With Edinburgh unlikely to run in 2023, expect the BSPL to try to exploit this & coerce Tigers to join the Premiership.

If the Facennas agree, don't expect them to be offered any assistance in assembling a competitive side from the current PL members who will prioritise their own self interest.

I don't think Glasgow would have any problems attracting riders if they did move up.

For a start Anders Thomson is a Tigers' asset and several overseas riders who have rode at Ashfield have stated their liking for the track and facilities.

I think the biggest obstacle would be the race night(s). Glasgow fans are set in their ways with traditional Friday evenings and, personally, I can't see week nights having the same attraction for families for several months of the season.

Think there are some internal issues to be sorted first though.

As you say no problem attracting riders just problems attracting crowds on an 'off' racenight, as Poole experienced!!

Oh, they'd be offered assistance....

But they'd just never get it.

Stay where you are, Tigers!
