Someone previously suggested racing the Poole vs Sheffield tie as the last QF match, this way Poole can use Lawson, Kerr, Cook, Rowe & pick 3 riders who have already been knocked out of the competition.

That seems the best solution here.

Don't be silly, best solutions are never used in speedway, sure something far more complicated will be used.

my understanding is that rowe will ride for sheff and in any subsequent rounds the prem side would again have priority over lawson cook etc

Don’t see how the powers that be would allow someone to ride for different teams in the same competition. That would make the sport a laughing stock and would lose all its credibility. Before you know it, teams will be borrowing riders from other teams for one off matches when their own riders are unavailable/injured. Heaven help us if the sport ever plummeted to those levels.

Don't worry...

That will NEVER happen...:D

lawson cook and rowe will need to ride for two teams in the competition but i hope its not a guest fest after that

whoever poole use to strengthen up need to be unattached riders if poss imo

Not sure why you'd allow those 3 and no others... Poole already meeting Sheffield in their first match so that rules Rowe out... or does it? It should.

Whatever happens it's certainly going to take up some space on here! Let's face it, Poole shouldn't really be competing in the competition.

Having their own 7 riders would be ideal, but given that Poole left the AGM as "provisionally" in the Prem KOC, shows they aren't going to do anything that doesn't suit them.

If they were told they can't use Lawson, Zach Cook & Rowe, they'd probably just say no to the KOC.

It sounds like the Premiership wanted Poole I'm the tournament, so they'll have to make concessions for them to agree.

I think you probably right. I'd of said "Here's the deal, do you want in or out" :P

i can see why they were asked but id agree with that

youd imagine the expectation is that sheffield will tear them a new one and theyll be out in the quarters so it doesnt get too complicated

I wonder who even suggested it and if they even thought about the difficulties in Poole assembling a credible team to compete 🤷‍♂️

Lets hope so.

Perhaps the other finalists should be decided, before Poole's KOC matches commence?

I'm sure Mr Morris and BSPL can agree on the best team out of 4 to put directly into the final for "commercial reasons" without the need for matches to actually be staged (the clubs involved could still stage the matches just for fun).

Add-on getting the other QF tie over and done prior to Poole v Sheffield one, and this would give them riders from 5 clubs to recruit guests from.

Am I the only person who thinks this is daft.

It may be good for Poole fans and if it wasn't for double up rules it could work. But as thing stand the conflicting riders thing should have made it a non starter.

This makeshift team thing is like a friendly challenge select. Even if they were to get top class gp riders to even the gap it's a bit unfair as every other team needs riders who fully commit.

Maybe run a shield for the winners of both competitions at the lower levels track. I remember a good challenge meeting at lynn vs Peterborough. El vs pl. Ended 44 vs 46. Was a cracker.

If I'm wrong then sell it to me.
