Steve Shovlar
So Scots don’t do a bit of friendly banter. I understand. Hope we stuff ‘em out of sight like we did Edinburgh.
old bob at herne bay
So much wind ( or is it hot air) blowing from both the South and the North on this pair of p offs that I am amazed that the tracks at Poole and Glasgow aren’t dust bowls ……

It’s just ignorance. Of course it’s not ignorance. It’s friendly banter. I could have said perhaps Nessy will be in the crowd for extra support or I am looking forward to a deep fried Mars bar washed down with some Irn Brew. With an och aye the noo thrown in for good measure. Most would see it has harmless banter and nothing more. Surprised we haven’t all been called Dorset Knobs in return. Scotland is a beautiful country and I love to visit the Highlands. But it seems it’s best to avoid the main cities where the welcome isn’t as friendly as the folk who live in more rural areas. Don’t you worry about Jan Anderson, Steve. He’s an Edinburgh supporter. They’re a cold lot. The Glasgow jocks will give you a warm welcome. But, by the way, it’s Irn Bru 1

Might have been an idea to tap him up for them. Ronnie did give Glasgow a loan of his haps, I don't think it's the first time either.

I did see on one forecast some rain Monday morning but nothing much after that so hopefully should be ok. All the best for your trip. Hope we don't lose by too many. scoobydoo
Having married a Glasgow lass who was living in England and being an englishman becoming apart of a very welcoming scottish family , i was advised whilst out and about in Scotland to be wary of the fact that some see certain terms used to describe a scotsman as being very offensive and some of those terms have been used on this thread, so i can see why some have not taken it as banter and others not realising the terms are being taken as offensive.
