Berwick Bandits 2022

There is a complete set of Danish fixtures on 29 June.

However a true speedway supporter would be keen to see a promising star every bit as good as Basso.

His scores in Denmark not yet up with Basso's but definitely good prospect. Getting in at reserve a huge bonus. Just a constant production line over there, surely we could learn something? Maybe 5 rider teams way forward too?

It's interesting Berwick publicly thank Glasgow in obtaining a visa for the young Dane.

I'd like to think that is because the Bandits spotted him first and Glasgow are being honourable because there will be a few Tigers' fans like myself wondering if we've let a good rider slip our grasp when arguably we could be in need of changes ourself?

That's why I don't know how dropping back to just NL will help Bickley's confidence. We already know he's a 9.5 NL rider & a 3.5 Champ rider.

If Bickley drops to NL & keeps scoring to his 9.5 ave, what will have changed? How will that help his confidence? He already knows he's a NL heat leader! How will he know when to step back up?

I cant see dropping back to just NDL helping, unless it either gives Kyle more time to focus on Torun and improve his performance there so he gets regular U24 rides.

The alternative is will another Championship team offer a place & a change of team mates / home track at championship level give him a boost.  As Berwick have signed Stoneman who is with Oxford at NDL I assume nothing to stop Kyle racing for bullets and a different Championship team

Almost right. Just announced by club Nathan stoneman and jonas Knudsen subject to visa acceptance

WOW ........let's create a  cover story to get the 2nd leg of the KOC vs Redcar postponed while we push these team changes over the line, Redcar won't know what's hit them and we will have a much better chance of overhauling that 12 point deficit who knows if we keep kicking the can down the alley we might even get Etheridge back.  We all know it's cheating but hey who cares

I remember around just 4 years ago watching him regularly in the Colts alongside Dan Bewley...

With the two of them often riding Ht 13 and Ht 15 together...

With Bickley more than a match for Bewley and would win his fair share of heats when they rode together..

And as he often outgated Dan, who had to fight his way through from the back, the margin of some victories showed he was more than capable, with Dan not always making any impression gap wise, and race win times between the two were very comparable..

Amazing that Dan is now on such a hugely different career path, in what is a pretty short period of time, especially given the Covid break..

One knocking on the GP Finals door, and the other struggling to hold down a reserve place in Division 2 of the UK..

Hope there is a way back for the kid, but it will take a huge amount of tenacity and resilience to get himself onto the career path that seemed likely for him when rode for the Colts first up..

I remember seeing him turn up at Perry Barr in 2018 (must have been as our last season in NDL) with all the kit and van and long list of sponsors that most PL riders would have been envious of.

May be a case of having it all on a plate, not appreciating it and working at it and then seeing hungrier types just passing him by (literally)

I also think if you look at the 2 most progressive riders from 2017-2018 of which Bewley is far and away and miles ahead of the rest that he and Brennan, who seems next best and more progressive than others now, have had bad injuries and come through them. Sometimes those injuries can make and define you if they don't kill your career at that stage.

Big fish and little ponds and big ponds and little fish syndrome, Bewley chased it, Bickley it seems didn't.

Don’t let fact it pissed down at 6.55pm on Saturday, 5 minutes before the scheduled start time, saving many Redcar fans a wasted journey, cloud your judgement

You live in Berwick? You saw the downpour minutes prior to start time!? It wasn’t cheating at all… you can ask why Redcar called off 2 fixtures for the same reason?? Was that cheating??

In all fairness to Kyle we all know the lad has the talent but sadly his mind thought has never been the same since he lost his grandfather, who was such a big influence and part of his set up, a few years ago.

Maybe having another mentor would help him?

Lets be honest, Bickley is not improving, another rider who thinks he is better than he is!

Not got anything to do with confidence as he wants to ride championship he was just dropped and that’s from the man himself.

Berwick saying it’s to help him gain confidence is a nice way of saying you’ve not been very good so we’re dropping you.

Don't think it would be a bad thing if he was to go to Edinburgh for the remainder of the season. His home tracks have usually been biggies Belle Vue, Workington, Glasgow & Berwick so maybe something more technical would improve him who knows. I thought personally he would kick on this season, as compared to some seasons he had his team place sorted before Xmas and just a case of getting everything sorted for 2022. He is still only 20 just seems to have been around a while.

Much nicer way of dropping a rider than Sheffield, who pointed out Nielsen's failings!
