Agree with what you say but the world cup win certainly went under the radar, nothing in the majority of news/media outlets. I always thought Woffinden could have used his position as world champion more to have promoted the sport over here, hes one rider who has the personality and would have been seen as cool by the younger generations, Doyle has shown far more loyalty to to UK speedway than our own riders and was only really forced out by the unfortunate situation at Swindon.

I think it will need a period of sustained success to make the wider sporting media and sports' watching public to start to follow more closely..

Similar as to how the Sport was covered in the 70's due to consistent success, (and then got almost dropped like a stone when the Yanks and Danes took over)..

And also similar to the way Carl Fogarty built up a WSB following over through several years of successive title wins..

With BSB getting more coverage and interest too, off the back of what he achieved at World Level..

Woffy, Lambert, Bewley and Ellis would be a fair team, as it currently stands, for the 2023 WTC, and as we have seen this year, next years team for the SON, whoever is picked, would be in with a decent chance of retaining the trophy..

Going head to head, every night you ride, against the top level, can only help...

Very true but it never stopped Doyle showing his loyalty to the UK, riding here as world champion.

Do you think he would have done that if he didn't have a British wife and live over here?

Has Dan actually confirmed this? As maybe their is a clause in his Polish contract to allow him to ride in 3 leagues?

Polish contract

33) compliance with the limits on starts in league meetings: a) only 2 national leagues for DMP(Extraleague) rider, including Polish league b) only 3 national leagues for DM I and II Leagues, including Polish league

Much easier to race Poland and Sweden with one set of equipment and team of mechanics than it is to do Poland and UK.

Would have thought he would have equipment in both countries.Maybe mechanics too,it's still a fair way to travel from Wroclaw to Smederna for meetings.15 hrs nonstop by road and ferry.Easier to fly i would have thought and have equipment in both countries.

Most international riders do Poland on a Sunday then take a leisurely drive up to Northern Poland catch the ferry Monday to arrive Tuesday morning then get back to port to sail back to Poland Tuesday night.

The mechanics actually like this as they all get together on the overnight ferries and have a few beers and chill out . The riders depending on other commitments may fly from Poland to Sweden on a Tuesday morning. If the rider is in the Friday match on a non GP weekend they often travel out to Sweden earlier and have a few days down time both Magic and Robert Lambert did this regularly

Blimey, long way to travel every week.Thought it would be easier on the body and mind just to fly rather than travel by road and ferry.

Woffy has a British wife, It's all about money, and who can blame them. If I could of got 6x more by doing the same job in Poland, it would of been bye bye Britain.

Theres no reason to assume he wouldnt have, perhaps he wouldnt but who knows for sure, if he didnt he wouldnt have been turning his back on his country though when he was in a position to promote it.

Probably would have as it’s very easy Pocket Money to pick up over here compared to Sweden where the opposition was quite tough. Also like he said he likes to keep busy on the bike.

Keeping busy on the bike is one thing but travelling back and forth with sometimes complicated travel plans is a different story - not withstanding any extra costs of having extra equipment/mechanics etc in every country

He’s done it previously though so he knows what it entails. If it wasn’t profitable he would soon drop it,but he didn’t.
