You should be pumping teams like Hearts given the cash your boys are on. Sounds familiar……..:.

Well organised decent side no average restraints in football so not comparable.

The question arises, how different would it have been if the match had been ridden on an actual speedway track rather than a postage stamp 'Mickey Mouse' track.  And should there be a minimum size of track to be permitted to stage official speedway meetings.  'Racing' at Armadale never seems to look like 'speedway' as most people know it, the riders seem to stall and almost come to a complete halt on the bends.  That an experienced Polish rider couldn't even turn the bike on it probably says more about the deficiencies of the track than it does the rider.

Other 'what ifs' such as if Ostergaard had been fit, although unlikely to have done better than Brennan, and Sedgmen would probably have done better than Nowak at Armadale although probably less well at Ashfield so again probably cancels out.

Can only think of one thing to say to this.

GIRUY.

Agree to a certain extent Jaiser. Mauger always said if you turned left it was a speedway track. Many tracks limited to what they can do because of dog tracks.

Scott Nicholls a joy to watch at the Dale.

Cookie in his pomp too.

I personally heard Ivan expand on this very concept: "you have the white line on the left and the fence on your right and you ride on the bit in the middle" :D, he was a bit of card was Ivan when he let his hair down.  Not every promotion is fortunate to begin with a clean sheet of paper, track building-wise, and good luck to those who are, it's very much a case of making the best out of what you have.  IMO for every 'Berwick', big & fast, the needs to be a 'Wolves', tight & techncial, makes speedway more interesting.  We can discuss 'best races at ABC & XYZ tracks' to our heart's content (and we do) but even wearing 2 pairs of rose-tinted shades, you can get great & ordinary racing on each and every track.....

Just watching the stream now, gotta say Nicol was very unlucky in heat 12 when the race was stopped! Never moved before the tapes, just made a perfect start!

Common occurrence with broc. Refs seem to have had some sort of warning and since mid season any time makes a good start gets pulled back. Believe guesting at Kent same thing happened

Can’t say I was complaining when it was pulled back :) but I’m certainly of the view that as long as you aren’t rolling and you gamble and get a flyer without touching the tapes then good luck to you.

The weather can be crap any day of the year in Britain,it’s the fact that the schedule gets so far behind,if we were just down to the 2 Finals by the end of Sept, time would be on the Clubs side if there was bad weather.Although the Season should really be finished by end of Sept. IMO

Or run the KO Cup by end of June, meaning two comps dont end together  and teams that start the season well, but then maybe get injuries, have a chance of trophy success..

And it also means that successful teams (like happened to Workington), dont have fans having to fork out four or five times in circa 20 days, as invariably they wont, and instead then cherry pick which meetings to attend, thus diluting the crowd levels that success should bring..
