Just as an example:- From Strike Zone First Aid Event Cover:-

It is not possible to give exact prices for our services as this will depend on the risk assessment however typical costs are:  £14/hr for 1st aiders,  £16/hr per medic and £12/hr for an ambulance to be on site. (All prices are subject to a minimum charge of £75, mileage is charged for distances beyond 25 miles)

7 x Medical Staff:- 6@£14 + 1@£16 + Ambulance@£12= £112 per hour! + Mileage!

Most local private ambulance services will not touch speedway with a barge pole due ti the high risks involved they are happy to do school fates , concerts etc . Mention 4 men on bikes doing 50mph+ without brakes they say thanks but no thank you it’s simply not worth the risks.

How much does the attendance of an ambulance cost? And do you know why on earth it was coming from the West Midlands?

I understand the costs of the ambulance & staff is more then £1000 per match.
The ambulance has been coming from the west midlands for over 5 years now without any serious issues till yesterday , no local private ambulance is willing to provide an ambulance to speedway due to the high risks involved & the same company provide all the medical staff as-well as the ambulance.

Wouldn't worry about it those complaining are those who want to stick the knife into speedway and it's organisers .

Some riders are already doing a better job than people on here. IMO.

But ultimately it is the promoters who (by allowing such nonsense to happen), who sadly do the most damage...

With the greatest of ironies being that they do the damage ultimately to themselves...

Its an incredible concept to consider how these people so effortlessly undue so much of their fine work and dedication in keeping the sport going in this country, by willingly allowing so many ludicrous situations to take place...

Be a great subject to have for a psychological Uni Degree I would suggest... :D

Many have said often that it no longer is a "proper sporting league competition" anymore, but simply a formula put together to allow riders the chance to earn as much as they can, as often as they can, as individuals, riding under some contrived "flag(s) of convenience"....

I dont think that it's even pretending to be anything more than that anymore is it?

Genuine question. What are the risks involved in supplying an ambulance?

Maybe Jonny the Spud may like to comment?!;)

After ready pages and pages of vitriol the only thing I’ll say is that Adam presented his racing schedule (as all riders do) before he signed.

Before he turned a wheel for Scunthorpe it was always known he had a meeting yesterday.

Ok boys and girls you can get back to your bïtching now, but maybe try to think a little before you all slag off on a rider

He didn’t. It was known that he was riding in France.

you need to direct your anger elsewhere

Perhaps Adam should come out and say that somebody is telling lies about him being ill... otherwise he's just complicit in the deceit.

My reading of the regulations is that there are two logical outcomes:

1) Adam Ellis is banned for a year, or

2) Godfrey is subject to severe sanction for fraudulently claiming a facility his club were not entitled to.

[I'm ignoring 3) it quietly gets swept under the carpet]

Relevant reg: 10.5(l)

a Championship rider who’s own FMN* does not have a current
agreement with the BSPA and is competing in another FMN’s
National, League or Open Meeting. This will result in the riders
SCB Registration being suspended for one (1) season and the
riders team will be automatically granted a facility for a maximum
period of 28 days, after which that team must re-declare

* I'm assuming there is no agreement with the FFM

Why should he ?

I don’t think he even knows what’s been said.

You seem very angry about it all.

Perhaps as, I assume the director of a company, he should be aware that the director of another company is telling lies about him in public. Or perhaps he'll just keep quiet about things and be complicit in the deceit and continue to take the coin.

Instead of coming on here and having a go at the paying punters who have supported the club Adam has been a part of all year you should make him aware of the situation and maybe as a professional Speedway rider and British Champion he can release a statement?

Angry, not especially, I've come to expect these kind of shenanigans now, that's why I'm making fun of the situation as it's all a bit of a joke isn't it... disappointed yes.

Nobody comes out of this particularly well

So... the organiser of your Speedway (and Speedway in the whole of the UK) has been outed as a liar! What do you think about that?
