There is a lot of talk time between races on this Eurosport coverage. Plenty of time to go through that sort of thing.

Shouldn't even need that. The commentators SHOULD have access to tablets (or something similar) which are updated as you go. We have technology, so use it...

I presume that ranking Bewley 6th and Dudek 7th has saved us 6 pages of outrage about the lack of a run-off. Had it been the other way round I can't imagine many on here being happy with the outcome.

(And I confess this was a rule change that passed me by, and as I was watching an hour after the event I was avoiding all the helpful posts on here that would have clarified matters for me. The failure of the commentators to give any meaningful information about the climax was pretty poor)

If it was the other way around it wouldn't have mattered as that would have meant both Bewley and Dudek would have qualified for next years Gp series. This way only Bewley does.

Thing is, countback is used in many sports these days, and particularly over a full season of events, it's pretty easy to do - and fair. It's not like the old days where you could blame one E/F or tapes exclusion - when you have a MINIMUM of fifty rides a season.

It difficult to work out because of the exclusions- could be a run off for 6th Bewley and Dudek ??

"Provisional", "I think"... sounds like even you were struggling tonight.

This stupid scoring system has been shown up for what it is last night and tonight with nobody knowing what the final results for the season were until the captions came up at the end of the night. Made watching it a bit of a waste of time imo

How Janowski is world number 3 is beyond me... are they sure they've got that right? He's gone missing for most of the season! 60 points off the leader, is that the biggest gap ever for a world number 3?

Woffy wild card for next season? Not for me for his own good, but he's nailed on to get one

I was struggling because all the ones with * had equal records of 1st 2nd etc etc- I thought that a race exclusion bettered a tape exclusion - so that put Doyle ahead of the other 2 who had a tape exclusion, so i then went to who finished higher when they met. It seems i knew what i was doing :D

Janowski is a very talented rider and a class act on the bike, but this season has been a bit of nightmare for him for some reason. At least when interviewed a couple of weeks ago he didn’t give the usual bullsh#t about machinery and set-ups he blamed himself.Good Guy IMO.Thought a couple of years ago he could be World Champ but not so sure now.

I agree with everything you say, like Woffy i think he's in a massive comfort zone. 60 points off the leader for a world number 3, that must be a record

I don’t believe you were watching just to see a screen showing the final results. Foremost I was watching the racing.

I was primarily watching to see who was going to finish 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th and had no idea who had finished 3rd to 6th until well after the final had finished... like many others

That's the whole point of a GP series. May as well go back to a one off world final!

When Nicki absolutely dominated in 2007, 3rd placed Jason Crump finished 72 points behind Nicki.

I think the rule has already been posted but the current rule is

1. Run-off for 1st place. 2. For all other placings: Precedence will be given to the rider having the greatest amount of SGP 1st place results, followed by 2nd, 3rd, 4th and so on in the current season. If the tie still persists precedence will be given to the rider with the highest final classification at the last round of the current SGP season.

so no run off is correct.

Crumpy wasn't too shabby was he?

There's been 4 GP's in Poland for Magic this year.

Janowski 2 podiums

Crump 3 podiums

And wasn't 2007 the KO system?

No,it was 16 rider format that year with all points counting but double points in the final.

Nicki had 2 24 point maxes and 2 wins with 23. He really was on a different level that year.
