Poole Pirates Vs Leicester Lions K.o.c 2nd Leg 29th September.

Not looking like a Pirates night tonight. Lions faster out of the tapes on virtually every heat. King going through the tapes in his first hasnt helped but in truth I think Lions could actually a win if we don't sharpen up our starts.

I wasn't at the meeting but was watching it unfold on speedway updates.

Cudnt believe me eyes, Lions just disappeared after heat 8.

Crackin, excellent, can't wait to be at Wimborne for the cup final & play offs.

Also at the SON.

Crackin end to the season.

Bring it on!

They seemed to deflate when Poole got level on aggregate, but maybe the Poole riders just seemed to get going! Interesting to know what is said at the press conference they are doing tonight.

Well that was certainly a match of two halves. Up to heat 8 Leicester looked like they really meant business and had countered every advantage Pirates had picked up.  OK they got lucky with King going through the tapes but other than that, were faster out of the starts.

But at the heat 8 track break Middlo must have got the team together, as from that moment onwards Pirates made Lions walk the plank and blasted them out of the water for good measure.

Some great racing tonight as well. Ben Basso’s third ride in heat 8 was spectacular. He missed the gate completely but on lap 2 went around the outside of Hume and Kennedy, then a lap later had wheeled in Howarth and went around him as well.  The kids got class.

Heat 13 was also excellent with Lions gating but King around the outside and Schlein under Hans before stalking Morris for three laps and getting him off bend 4 up the inside. Several other titanic battles for the fans to enjoy.

For Poole:

Schlein was excellent tonight with a great pass of Morris in heat 13.

Basso just gets better every week. Best newcomer to the league this year? And heading to reserve from next week.

Worrall was simply put, superb. Full 15 max and rider of the night. Great form and full of confidence.

Cook started poorly but improved.

King started poorly but improved.

Zach Cook was excellent as a guest. Bound to see him again this season.

Hume struggled tonight after a good first ride. Two lasts meant he lost his last ride.

For Lions:

Morris started well but faded.

Same goes for Douglas.

Howarth was excellent value all night.

Hans got the full set Dusty Bin. 3,2,1,0.

Joe Thompson found the going too tough.

Kennedy had 7 rides but was poor. Got a paid win when King hit the tapes, but was quite hard to get it. Knew King was going to pass him so squeezed King up against the fence. Naughty to be honest but Danny made little of it.

Pirates won the last 7 heats 31 - 11.
