Poole Pirates Vs Leicester Lions K.o.c 2nd Leg 29th September.

Recommended Posts

The Pirates return to action on Wednesday in the K.o.c after securing top spot in the league after last weeks victory against the Redcar Bears.

Leicester have a 8 point league from the fist leg up at Beaumont Leys and we will need to hit them hard from the start to unsettle them and bring the tie level.

Leicester have a top 4 that are strong home and away and if they all click then it will be a tough night.

Since Stefan Nielsens injury, we have struggled at reserve having to use a guest each meeting and this has put pressure on young Danyon Hume to deliver the points.

Fingers crossed the weather forecast doesn't change for Wednesday as this look's like the best day of the week

Thoughts?

Depends if Basso is fit enough to ride? I'm guessing not. Also who is guesting at reserve?

Going to be a tough night and I hope Basso on the Gasso is fit to return. Time for Schlein to shine, get his focus back on it and kick the Lions ass!

Lions av 3 weak links in the Twins and Kennedy as they will soon look green on the Waves of Wimborne, Pirates will deal with them and altho Andersen is back on a familiar track he's riding like a cow's backside at the moment......well behind!!

WIN WITH A WORRALL, YOU ONLY WIN WITH A WORRALL, WIN WITH A WORRALLLLLL :party::party:

WE SHALL OVERCOME!

If no Ben Basso it will be pretty unrealistic to expect us to progress.

That's putting a lot of pressure on a kid that has limited experience on British tracks

Pretty sure we didn't have Basso when we beat Leicester last time...?

Why isn't he riding today?

No reason given yet. Many people questioning it as it gives Howarth a ride in heat 8 and Kennedy can take the rest.

He has had 3 meetings in 2 days; Edinburgh on Friday and 2 at Leicester last night. But so has brother Joe .....

My recollection is that he often gets caught out. Average fixing (failed) at Edinburgh and an August “sun-off” that resulted in Glasgow needing a referee’s consent before they could call off a meeting come to mind

Didn't work yesterday either as Howarth was rotten

So Dan Thompson was ill yesterday and unable to ride in the Glasgow v Leicester fixture. Presumably a non-speedway occurrence. Is there a rule covering this type of absence and what are the implications for the Lions going forward given that their schedule looks hectic over the coming week?

Different rule for different Clubs has always been in place.

A non-speedway related illness is surely a 7-day absence?
