Would the Greyhound stadium be an option?

It has always been an option and came very close not so long ago, but with more housing close by these days, it would be difficult I would suggest. The stadium was recently sold to the Mick George Group incidentally, the main sponsors of Peterborough United.

This I fear is the end. Double speak re finding new home for Panthers is no more than meaningless platitudes. Agree with a previous poster that at the most likely outcome is for the only thing to proceed will be the houses. Money and profit will be the winners as always.

Sadly so very true these days.  Not exactly a cheering few lines of verse - typical of the 1600's ( allegedly ), but content bears an uncanny resemblance in mirroring the continued loss of UK Speedway Tracks in favour of more housing developments.

The problems that the owners/developers may or may not encounter in the planning process will be irrelevant if they give the speedway club notice at the end of the season

Arena Essex is still tied up in a laborious planning process but once the speedway is gone its gone

Depends how much the club wants to fight for its future? If the draft Local Plan was accepted as final without change then the developers have to deal with:

Existing Culture, Leisure, Tourism and Community Facilities

The loss, via redevelopment, of an existing culture, leisure, tourism or community facility will only
be permitted if it is demonstrated that:

k. The facility is demonstrably no longer fit for purpose and the site is not viable to be - it's still fit for purpose -
redeveloped for a new community facility;

l. The service provided by the facility is met by alternative provision that exists within reasonable proximity: what is deemed as reasonable proximity will depend on the nature of the facility and its associated catchment area; - does Norfolk Arena/Mildenhall or Leicester fit that criteria for Peterborough?

m. The proposal includes the provision of a new facility of a similar nature and of a similar or greater size in a suitable on or off-site location - there is no provision/proposal unless section l above covers that? So how can Asset Earnings Power Group (AEPG) put out such statement without greater detail?

It's a complicated plan with loads of subsections so I guess PCC can make it mean whatever they or the developers wish?
