Ipswich 2022

Recommended Posts

“Erik had a successful operation which showed no ligament damage, but he will still be out for four to six weeks which takes us to the play-offs. We are definitely looking at options at what we can do regarding that and that may or may not include Ben’s situation which we should know more about imminently. We have only got until the Belle Vue meeting where we are allowed to make changes, so we have got to act quickly. Me and Chris (Louis) have spent the last week constantly on the phone talking about it and there are plans in place for whatever eventuality.”

The “plans in place” are the two riders mentioned, I’m confident of that. Let’s see what happens over the next few days. We’ll know by Friday I’d imagine if we’re on plan A or on to plan B..

Do Ipswich have to make the changes together and not separately. They have already made a change and afaik you are only allowed to make changes on two separate occasions.Although you could have a facility for Riss until he is fit to come back,if he does.

The reg re 2 changes is within the transfer window

The switch of Heeps was before the window so not relevant

The double change is required to make the numbers fit as both are not like for like

So the Heeps swap was not within the rules then as discussed earlier in the season:rolleyes:

Edit: forgot about in the best interest and all that blah, blah, blah:D

It's a typical grey speedway rule. States the % of premiership matches that are completed before changes can be made but makes no reference to if window closes before the season starts or after the league cup group meetings have been completed. Bend the rule to fit your own agenda, like Belle Vue with Zager!

Although you could argue Lynn have done the same with Iversen sign a rider and keep him even when you know you can't use him because of the regulations, then when you can't sign anyone else have a facility granted.

Welcome to speedway you couldn't make it up!

You're preaching to the converted. The regulations are as full of holes as a string vest. Application/enforcement is equally as flawed!

Not quite correct...

The whole point of it is you do make it up...:D

(In the UK that is obviously)...;)

Was wondering the same, guest at Scunny tomorrow as well. Who is he attached to.

Ipswich!!

He is officially still declared as part of the side as the RS. Danyon is the No8 but in possession of the jacket

We could've named Anders as the RS at 7 and Danyon in place of Ben but cleverly chose to keep Danyon at 7 and name Anders as a guest

To qualify to be a guest you must be in a declared team and have an average lower than the rider you are replacing - Anders ticks both boxes!

Again it shows how flakey the regulations are as no one had foreseen this situation which could not have arisen without this year's unique RS/Not set up
