Ipswich 2022

Can't believe Ipswich have been allowed to do this...

Nowhere near 25% of matches completed...

No point having rules...

(Or indeed, regulations)...

Is there?

Might as well as give them the title now....

I blame Poole...

The 25% rule is for premiership matches only so no rules broken. However once again it shows just how hard the rule book is to interpret.

A transfer window is a fine idea but stick to dates. Eg the first window opens on November 1st and closes on December 31st the second window opens on June 1st and closes on July 30th

It is quite straight forward , and obviously you have either not read or not understood the regulation. See earlier postings on this thread.

"A Premiership Transfer Window opens after 25% of the League fixtures are complete and closes when 75% of League fixtures are complete. This permits changes to the team on 2 occasions, except for proven long term injury."

So ... given that I haven't read every single reply ... is that 25% of all League fixtures or 25% of each team's League fixtures?  Either way, the % works differently for each team, depending on matches completed (home/away and postponements).  Another rule that's not thought through.

If it's 25% of all League fixtures, has anyone worked out the current scheduled date?

It is 25% of league fixtures across the whole league. This introduces yet another problem. The date of the window's opening and closing won't be known until the events have happened.

Imagine: it is Monday night 14 of 60 league matches have been ridden, then Wolves get rained off and a thunderstorm floods Peterborough after heat 9. Now all those new signings have to wait a few more days.

Scrap it now.

Unless I've missed a match or two in the fixture list, I make it that (without postponements), the 15th & 16th matches take place on Thursday, 2nd June.  At that stage the teams will have ridden:

Jack Holder limping after his crash in the GP in Poland expect this now gives him an excuse to miss the match at foxhall with a recurrence of his infamous toe injury

Hope he remembers which foot it's on if it happens again:P

Here is a thought   Would Ipswich benefit from employing alun Rossiter as team manager.
his record is second only to Pete adams. Could his man management get much more out of Troy and Ben ?
could one of his contacts be the rabbit out of the hat if a team change is made ?

And a bit of water on the track would go a long way to see us getting more from a few riders,,, and the water is free

Sadly any business that uses large amounts of water (speedway track, football ground, steam railway) will be on a water meter and will pay for every gallon they use.

Yesterday was the funeral of club stalwart Chris Ellis which as expected was very well attended for a celebration of her life.
Just wanted to say that Danny king and Ritchie Hawkins attending the lunch time funeral making the effort to come from Peterborough to Ipswich and then back to Peterborough for our meeting.
They made me proud and deserve praise for their efforts and we really do have a very special club with fantastic staff and fans.
RIP Chris xxx
