Yes but only recently had it as a protected race night. Unless they have given that up now? From what I gather Poole don't get the numbers on Thurs/Mon like they do on a Weds. Not sure what other clubs in prem are like? Fine for BV, Ipswich and Wolves I guess as can stick to their favoured race night.

We've moved all over the place, what's up with other nights in the Poole area??

Yes but you were using this as an example of how there is enough riders to have 8 competitive teams yet your taking 5 riders who ride elsewhere.  So where for instance do belle vue get riders to replace kurtz and Worrall?

A rough guide started at 630 in the morning laying in bed, remember it's a guide so no "he would never go there" etc.  But it shows if a dozen riders  an be enticed back it can work if not it will just be slightly weaker with riders like Barker, Heeps etc. coming in

Belle Vue
Bewley, Etheridge, Wright, R. Worral, Tungate.

Ipswich
Doyle, Allen, Klindt, Hansen, King.

Kings Lynn
Lawson, Kerr, Palm-Toft, Andersen, Jorgensen.

Wolves
Masters, Becker, Thorsell, Batchelor, Douglas.

Sheffield
J. Holder, Howarth, Riss, Pickering, C. Holder.

Peterborough
Iversen, Nicholls, Harris, Andersen, Bjerre.

Poole
Ellis, Covatti, S. Worrall, Crump, Kurtz.

Glasgow
Cook, Ostegaard, Nicol, Musielak, R. Jensen.

BV would be better running Fri or Sat..

The original business plan when they moved was based on that..

The last time I went earlier this year, I was surprised to see so many kids in attendance on a Monday night, (during the summer hols), and since they have gone back to school crowds have been appreciably lower...

Friday night for me, given all other rider individual ambition distractions would be ideal..

Fixed race nights are now solely in place to ensure the top league riders can 'double down'...

As we often say, "open" on the best night (or day), you can get your largest crowd..

Anything else is madness from a business perspective..

....which is the reason Poole run on Wednesdays. Poole have gone with Thurs/Mons when in the Prem and a Friday and Sunday in the Championship recently - all of which have struggled to get up to a regular Wednesday attendance. In the summer Poole has lots of other attractions especially at weekends which are also 'change over' days for holidaymakers.

The promotion sought the view of fans towards the end of the 2019 season and regular Wednesday speedway with a wider choice of opposition was easily the preferred option.  Also at that time the greyhounds were still operating 3-4 days a week.

Great effort, fact is unless the Premiership have a minimum of 8 teams then the U.K. must go for just one league & with what's left run IOW type of meetings.

P.S. 8 teams = 7x league x2 =14 home matches + Cup competition.

There needs to be an "Elite" league..

Ran with credibility and integrity..

A "standard bearer" to focus the wider sporting public on...

The best you could get to deliver that is, as has been said many times, (and should have been done this year), 8 teams of five riders each..

(The top 40 in the averages)..

The rest (circa 40 riders?), can then replace missing riders or they run a fit for purpose RR system, with a Number six added..

The issue though is two fold...

Firstly. The top 40 riders will, in the main, need to ride in the 2nd Division to make it pay (and not leave a huge hole in their wages from this years' "ride every night/have bike will travel" situation that has been allowed to pervade by the BSPL..

And secondly. Will Div Two Promoters still want to keep rubbing shoulders with the "best available" (at a reduced price), so therefore wont be willing to drop down significant levels in rider quality? As just using the "next 40" riders will do just that..

In a perfect scenario there would be eight top tier teams, and eight 2nd tier teams...

With a clear demarcation in standard between them..

(Based on nothing else other that crowd levels if needs be)..

With the rest of the teams riding at a NDL/Development level, with some "reserve teams" similar to BV Colts..

The top using the next tier for replacements and the 2nd tier using the teams left in the 3rd tier for their replacements..

With all teams, (as fixed race nights wont be required) all riding whenever their crowd levels will be at the best..

But there is not a chance riders and promoters will go for that..

To be fair, the team building included Klindt (an Ipswich track specialist) at 1 until he dropped out on the eve of the season. We lost numerous meetings by only a handful of points, especially at home, when Crump or a guest scored only a few points. That makes all the difference in the world. Of course we’ll never fully know 100%, but if we’d had Klindt at 1 as originally planned, we’d almost certainly have far more points on the board than we currently have.

I also accept the point about Panthers doing brilliantly without a recognised number 1. But it’s pretty much a rare occurrence that this happens. Look at all the league winners over the years, and 99% of them have had good solid number 1’s.

Workington 2018. Won League, KO Cup & Shield with a team picked late. (thought Neila or Geoff100 would have posted this but probably do not come to the Premiership section too often. ;))

King and Klindt back and maybe Cook , Kemp(though can’t ride our place) and Rowe…. What does that leave?

Think it will be Heeps and Allen back which personally I wouldn’t want to see, let’s get some fresh blood in and try something different

Though having said that I wouldn’t mind Starke as he gives 110%

Strong possibility it could be

1. King
2. Starke/Heeps
3. Cook
4. Hansen
5. Klindt
6. Rowe
7. Kemp
