Ipswich 2022

So maybe just maybe team building was wrong?

To be fair, the team building included Klindt (an Ipswich track specialist) at 1 until he dropped out on the eve of the season. We lost numerous meetings by only a handful of points, especially at home, when Crump or a guest scored only a few points. That makes all the difference in the world. Of course we’ll never fully know 100%, but if we’d had Klindt at 1 as originally planned, we’d almost certainly have far more points on the board than we currently have.

I also accept the point about Panthers doing brilliantly without a recognised number 1. But it’s pretty much a rare occurrence that this happens. Look at all the league winners over the years, and 99% of them have had good solid number 1’s.

Wasn't it Ipswich who were trying to sign Chris Holder but couldn't get his visa done quickly enough?!

Things could've been worse then......;)

And if King is signed Klindt wont be no.1 if signed for 2022 haha unless king gets a reduction

My only gripe on the Louis interview is he doesnt know the team building rules, pretty sure most promotions know roughly what's going on but then they wont let fans know til last

If Klindt is in hope Mads Hansen

King probably a shoe in

Maybe an Ellis/Allen combo could fit depending on the regs, or Crump with Covatti?

1. Ellis 2. Allen 3. Klindt 4. Hansen 5. King

Or

1. King 2. Covatti 3. Crump 4. Hansen 5. Klindt

Probably end up with

1. Doyle 2. Heeps 3. Crump 4. Allen 5. King

Obviously pure speculations coz we dont know

For some reason I had it in my mind that Klindt was replaced late on by Crump but he was replaced by Jake Allen so that emphasises my point even more! Klindt was the number 1 in that team in terms of stature and point scoring potential regardless what number he’d have started with. Klindt is like sh!t off a shovel at Foxhall that’s why a lot of us wanted him in the side.

Those narrow home defeats would have been home victories with him in the side no doubt in my mind.

Doyle an interesting shout. Always been loyal to British Speedway in the past, wonder if he could be tempted back to UK? More complicated these days though with Polish restrictions and travelling complications amongst other things so probably doubtful.

Well he only took on Sweden due to Swindon closing, so he was willing to give up Sweden for the UK, whether that is the case now....

Correction, he was willing to give up Sweden for Swindon. Pretty sure at the time he said he would only ride for them, no one else in the UK.

Well some of the riders need to come back next year,, with hopefully at least one more team moving up,, and Rory Bjarne and poss Jason retiring there may be a shortage of suitable riders.

Well they might but can clubs afford them now.

UK speedway in a perilous place now and would throwing £000’s at Doyle put numbers on the gate to pay for him.

With riders retiring I would expect a consolidation of the leagues otherwise it’s a farce.

So with riders retiring and going to one league, presumably still restrictions from Poland, where are the riders going to come from?
