Heerenveen will have a weaker field without the Russians, but a more competitive one with closer racing in most heats. This should make the meetings more enjoyable, though of course the winner each day will not have met the world top5, making the victories somewhat hollow. I would say Weber is odds on based on his performance in the opening rounds but both Haarahultinen and Iwema could do it. I bet Harald Simon is kicking himself now that he couldn't ride in Russia. Yes, Weber in a great position to be crowned World Champion. Though Harald Simon is 3rd in the European Championship with hopefully the top 2 not being allowed to ride!!! steve69
Lets hope that Hans Weber, Martin Haarahiltunen & Jasper Iwema can all get at least 41 pts. All great guys & will deserve their place on the rostrum & what a big lift for DMV Dutch ICE speedway if Jasper can get into the top 3. Technik
I wonder if the Russian riders scores & positions will be removed or weather the FIM will allow them to take any medal they might win. I remember in the World Speedway final of 1990 when Per Jonsson won with Shawn Moran second & Todd Wiltshire third Moran was removed from second for (I believe) a drug related offence but Wiltshire was not advanced from third so officially there was no silver medalist
DutchGrasstrack
Russians will keep their points.
iris123
Liked the comment on FB yesterday that Posa should come out of retirement as with the current field he might have a good chance of winning But the one year the western riders have a chance Franky finds himself well off Still, imo i think the title should be cancelled as the Russians were obviously well ahead of the rest and the competition had started

Schwantz34
Despite my last comment about not going to Heerenveen I had a wee look at the cost of doing it there and back in a day. Looking about £400 for all travel ( flights and trains), a ticket and an official LFT test ( costing 55bucks) to enter the Netherlands Imagine shelling that out and getting a positive LFT!!! Think I'll hold out until next year
