Wolves v Panthers 13/9

Getting so bored of people excitedly saying that there’s loads of dirt on the track tonight…Tatum prodding about saying it’s really grippy and the riders are going to love it…Only for the racing to be utter toilet. I don’t care what the riders love or the dinosaurs think makes a good racing surface…just dumping a load of dirt on the track doesn’t make for good racing these days.

It’s just another example of the people that matter in the sport still thinking it’s the 1950’s, and black leathers and knee deep tracks are where the real entertainment is. Turgid stuff.

Congratulations to Peterborough, worthy victors on the night. Five race winners (even though four brought heat advantages) at home tells its own story. Harris has had many a fine night at Monmore and added another to the list this evening. Though wearing my Wolves hat I doff it in his direction! Slightly surprised to see criticism of the racing; perhaps the intensity fails to transmit to the TV screen. Watching in person it was gripping.
Safe journey home to the travelling Panthers fans

Absolutely no complaints tonight.  Peterborough did a job on us and deserved the won.  Not helped by Peter Adams daft use of the rider replacements leaving us with Leon Flint having to go in heat 13.

We'll have to ride miles better than that in the playoffs

More of a reflection on R/R at No.5 when the rider replaced isn’t second in your averages, to be fair. If the reserve doesn’t go in heat 13 you have to field both reserves in one of the other heats, The alternative would be to shuffle the riding order.

True.  Peterborough moving Harris to number 2 was a key factor tonight.  Lyon outwitted Adams from start to finish

Said it at the start of the season that age was just a number and we're the uncrowned 2021 champions.

Nobody can beat us over two legs. Belle Vue got lucky with a fatigue double header and poorly prepared race track.

Wolves always get battered at our place so they cant beat us over 2 legs. Sheffield are carrying 2 riders a meeting potentially 3 if Hume doesn't do the business so they wont beat us over two legs either.

In the ‘A ‘ fixtures  Belle Vue and Peterborough drew at the NSS and later in the day Belle Vue won the away fixture by ten points - And no probs with the track that day - You seem to have forgotten the ‘B’ fixtures where Belle Vue lost at home by four points but in the away fixture ridden on another day Belle Vue won by fourteen points - That makes an overall margin of ten points in favour of Belle Vue in both the ‘A’ and ‘B’ fixtures - Should Peterborough finish top I do not think they will pick Belle Vue based on their previous meetings this season

It would be far simpler, and better than current, and credible, when using RR, if the riders above and below the missing rider in the averages could take two rides each..

All the way through the team..

With a No1 missing having his rides taken by anyone the team manager nominated up to 7 rides max each, but no more than two each of his rides for any individual..

And if a No7 in the averages is missing, then nominate an unattached No8 and let him and No6 ride two races each, with the No8 having a minimum three rides per night...

Its ridiculous how many guest riders are used to fill spots that dont need filling if you ran a proper RR system..

The No1 nowadays isnt the powerhouse of old so doesnt need replacing as riders 2nd and 3rd in the averages are now much, much closer..

Riders want races to earn, so keep that opportunity within the team, and not bring outsiders in to take these money making opportunities, and also at the same time, add some credibility and integrity to the meeting..

Yep, R/R at 3 means 4 goes in 12 & 14. Easy.

Lots of moaners on here tonight again about the track, the racing and everything else you can have a moan about but I think it was a decent meeting which kept my interest from start to finish. Far better than any GP I've seen recently which to be honest are really starting to bore the pants off me.

British Speedway is not as bad as what a lot of people on this forum make it out to be ... just give it a chance and stop moaning so much.

Agree, tonight's meeting was also far better than either of the two Polish league semi-finals I watched, which were one-sided affairs.

Tonight's meeting had drama and excitement.

With who?  He's an RS rider

They replaced Bacon who was nowhere near good enough,  yet Flints arguably even worse.  No track craft at all and constantly makes bad decisions like riding the wrong line.  If he's a "rising star"........

Harsh. Flint scores well away and is improving at Monmore. Who would you have chosen to replace Bacon?

Good move, as I posted before the match. Always a pleasure to watch Harris round Monmore.

Cannot agree. He's long been a track specialist at Monmore. Yet when we needed him to perform as 'normal' in the 2017 play off final he was pathetic.Lost us the title, never forgive him.
