Glasgow v Plymouth Friday 10 September 7.30pm

Recommended Posts

Well its a warm welcome to the Gladiators on Friday, a team that have made much progress in recent weeks although now hampered by the injury to Richard Lawson. The Plymouth owners and management are to be congratulated for adopting a positive approach and actually promoting the sport. Looking forward to seeing Jason and Bjarne and I'm sure they'll love racing on a fair, smooth, well prepared track unlike some of the tracks they will have encountered away from home this year. With Richard in the team this would have been a close one but Tigers should now have enough strength in depth to win. They will be missing Tom Brennan on GB U-21 duty but have managed to bring in Ben Barker as a guest.

Limited guests available, think only Kent Berwick and Newcastle not riding and surprised to see we're using Barker for Brennan as apposed to him riding in place of Lawson.

Maybe we got in first . Summers or the crap guest,  Etheridge , might be a possibility . Cant see either a guest or r/r covering suffiently Son of God's scoring potential round the Peugeot velodrome however .

The forecast looked bad yesterday, but it seems the rain has arrived earlier than expected and might clear earlier too. Hopefully although there might be rain during the day tomorrow, it won’t be too much. I’m sure they’ll do everything possible to keep this on because we’re really short of available dates now. Not sure if next Friday (17th) is an option if required, otherwise we might need to try and find a completely different weekday to get things in.

Yeah that'll be it. If you're driving try Hamilton or Motherwell areas. On the m74 route South

Thats why hotels are so expensive!!

try the Alona at strathclyde park sure if you mention the glasgow tigers you might get a reduced rate as most of the riders now stay there when you here think they have a deal with the hotel can only ask

After traveling up for the original meeting only to be thwarted by a biblical monsoon just before tapes up I’ve decided to chance it & travel up again from Exeter! Still looking forward to it if the weather holds up but R/R to cover Richard Lawson isn’t going to get anywhere near the points you’d expect him to score. Reading the thread I now know why I couldn’t get a cheap hotel in the City! Staying in Motherwell instead.

The rain forecast for today hasn't been as bad as predicted so if stops at 5pm tomorrow should be ok
