Brummies v Bears take 3 08/08

Last week I was there and the track was very poor. We lost Stefan Neilsen in heat 2 and I spoke to Danyon Hume who rode at Brum and he said it was nothing like how it was when he was there. Set up for gate, go wide and stay wide. No chance if you don’t gate.

Having said that, it was gate and go at Poole tonight.

“Main Man” Rogers overseeing another track related fiasco!   Don’t recall track issues week in week out under Graham Drury’s stewardship!

No there were no issues as far as I remember(missed less than 10 meetings both home and away from the 2007 comeback till Alan Phillips decided to f**k it).Come to think of it there may have one issue when Somerset rode and wanted the track surface bladed:unsure:

I think lack of track preparation ( again !) killed any chance of Birmingham running next season.

Seemed okay from the terraces, normal close fast racing.

after ... dusty and drawn out.

loads walked out after heat four.

Thanks Redcar. Be proud.

Judging by the weekly reports on Perry Barr meetings, don’t think you can blame Redcar.Lack of track prep seems to be the big issue, fans walking out tells you that.

They don’t race on the terraces though.

Cant blame Redcar or any other team for lack of professionalism. As recent photos and video clips show, the track looks good, if your in front, terrible for everyone else, including the dust covered fans who can’t even see who finished where.

I accept you supporting your team but it doesn’t make it a well run club.

We’re you there tonight?

Redcar wanted it dusty, not damp and grippy.

I am proud to be a Redcar supporter.

A well run, well promoted, good team on a fair, well prepared racetrack.

A model for most other teams in the league.

Can understand you’re upset at tonight’s events but the blame, if the Brummies don’t run next year, doesn’t lie with Redcar.

The Bears have been well beaten a number of times away this year and not complained about track issues. The issues with track prep at Birmingham have been well documented.

So you are biased like me then.

hope you are proud.

You need to calm down a bit. The Poole track has been sorted. Miles better now than that day. Riders are allowed to complain if they feel the track isn't right.

Well, you were kinda swearing so I thought you were getting stressed a bit! ;)

Not sure what the issue is at Brum, sounds like it is too grippy? Poole completely relaid the top half of the track, but the issues might be completely different.

Deano you clearly don't know what you're talking about so it's easier for you to just stop talking.

The track work had no influence from Redcar other than us wanting a safe track to ride. The only way to make it safe was to make it slick and dusty.

The main problem with Birmingham, and it was the same in our first visit, is the inconsistent surface. It is soft in places and like concrete elsewhere. This not only creates ruts but also throws riders around as the bike grips/spins with the changing surface.

Harris even admitted it was "fair enough" that Redcar complained. He also struggled with his practice laps to okay the surface, being thrown about on bends 1 & 2 particularly.

Redcar have nothing to be sorry for if Birmingham don't come to the tapes next season. It's purely down to an inadequate promotion who have consistently blamed everything/everyone but themselves.

Blood pressure is ok so I'm told:t:Something that Barry the Cat mentioned that were no issues until this season.Led to believe as I mentioned earlier that Brum now have a very experienced track person in John Priest so don't know why ardent supporters are heading for the exits after 4 heats:neutral:

Actually reading Marshall07 post seems to make a lot of sense!

I guess for the footie. If I paid to get in, no way I'm leaving after 4 heats, want my moneys worth, so to speak.
