Watch some YouTube clips of Cookie then or even from your own website. Been doing it for years.

Greivesy was good for a roller in his day but the greatest exponent I seen was Peter Carr. Tbh I don't have issue with rolling, don't hit the tapes don't see what the problem is

A few things that are a must for Scunthorpe in 2022

A) Sign riders that can actually ride away tracks none of this Pijper, Aarnio rubbish.

B) Make Ryan Douglas an offer he can't refuse I believe he's still a Scunthorpe asset. Build the team with Douglas, Jorgensen and Palin then go from there

C) Change team manager. Not had a decent one since Richard Hollingsworth. Peet was hopeless at Hull as a TM, He was hopeless at Berwick and 3rd time lucky at Scunthorpe really hasn't worked.

I know Godfrey likes to do things on the cheap but it's 10 years since the league title at Scunny next season and even though there's people that don't see eye to eye with me and probably never will most Scunthorpe fans are loyal and deserve a team that's going to battle for a league title something they haven't had since 2012.

That's what the rule used to be. Changed couple years ago I see no reason why it needed to change. End of day it's the entertainment industry, what's entertaining about the best rider on the night being replaced by a reserve in the biggest heat of the night. I've watched broc all season for Glasgow and haven't seen him jump or roll at all. Again with cookie, I've not seen him rolling but then I did in his Edinburgh days. Maybe my red and white tinted specs there though. They've all got a long way to go before catch the sarj on that one though

Maybe Cook is more subtle with it. Brady Kurtz has jumping at least once a meeting when he was at Poole, I saw that! But then so did the refs! I haven't seen him exc for it this season for BV though, so the rule must have worked on him!

With Sarj, the fans could almost do a drinking game. Do a shot every time he jumps! Don't think he is bad as he used to be though? He used to get a load of stick for it when he was riding for Coventry especially from Poole fans!

Maybe it should just be the same heat rather than the same meeting. Also Broc needs to ask Cookie how he gets away with so many! ;);)

Our Ellis, almost continually tries rolling.

Must be on a guarantee as was brought in as a top rider to improve our away form as well ( still need the others to perform though) but he should be doing better on current British form. Whether he is on a guarantee to score 9 but he should be scoring similar to Masters or thereabouts as he rides the technical tracks(Edinburgh & Wolves) whereas Scunthorpe is more open, Ellis has done well on the technical ones in the past. We need the 10/11 from 4 or 13/14 from 5 & not the 6-8 that we are seeing. But others do need to step up also & when racing, look around for their partner. Pijper is missing Aarnio in this area of riding at 3 & 4. On Friday, even though Macdonald was making some gates, he was racing with & holding up his faster team leaders with them showing their frustrations later.

Yeah to be honest at the start of the season I was a big Macdonald out man but he’s going better now looking stronger. For me we really need Ryan Douglas or Stevie Worrall back someone that will be nearly unbeatable around Scunny and pick up solid points away you know a rider that’s strong in the British scene

Poole must be paying Steve Worrall serious money for him to drive  100's of miles to Poole, rather than 25 miles down the road to the EWR:D

Yeah very good point though no reason why Douglas can’t be back he’s the complete rider now in my opinion

Don't understand Adam Ellis saying tonight " Well at least we are in play offs", Birmingham have plenty of potential winning matches to catch and pass us to 6th place???

Depends when the cut off is. It did say 17th on the fixture list until recently. If it is still the 17th or Adam still thinks it is then neither Birmingham nor Kent can catch you before then. Birmingham only have 2 home fixtures before then and Kent 1.

Just back from what was a very entertaining meeting for this neutral speedway fan and great credit to Kent who dug deep to turn a ten point deficit after heat 11 into a victory after it looked as though the match had got away from them - I was very impressed with Scunny’s Josh Macdonald - First time I have seen him race and probably his and Theo Pijper’s first meetings  at Central Park - Seven rides, no last places, ten points, and in the thick of the action throughout - The track did have a blue groove after heat 6 which was not sorted until the interval - This also happened a couple of weeks ago after no reports of it in earlier matches although it was there virtually all the time in the National League days - This needs  to be sorted out - Scunny move on to a tough home match against Poole with Kent entertaining a tough home match with Leicester followed by the away match at Beaumont Park - Fans certainly getting their money’s worth this season at Central Park - Thank you Len Silver :t:

Palin must be Scunny's weakest away rider though!

I wouldn't have thought so considering we moved down to save money!! You'd have to ask Stevie why. You can ask him on Friday! ;)

Tbh Havvy did the same for 1999 season, could have signed for Hull which is a lot nearer to him but signed for Poole.

Unfortunately Adam was on borrowed engine last night which was thought to be just right for the Kent track ( which he hasn’t raced at for years). Even with changes in jetting, ignition and gearing it was just getting slower and slower as the night went on. To see the team in the pits was an eye opener, everyone diving in to help everyone else when problems arose. Believe me, he was pi$$ed off with not winning the meeting, he rode his nuts off.

Scunny  nearly got away with that … gusts and R/R strengthening their team considerably. Nicol got found out,  jumped every start - and could have been excluded in anyone of his rides. For Kent ….. Heeps either cannot ride his home track or he is still  troubled by injury, Morley needs a decent mechanic to look after his machinery which is a heap of junk IMO.

Hit the nail on the head there with all three of your points in my opinion. Would love to see Douglas back at Scunthorpe, need out and out point scorers, not just home track "specialists".

There's been countless times when I have questioned some of Dave Peet's decision making and last night proved questionable yet again. I don't know the guy so I want to be careful not to speak out of line, however listening to him after meetings in the bar, or reading some of his interviews, I don't feel inspired in the slightest. Seems content with "the lads gave it there all" or "we put in a great effort" rather than demanding results which is what the Scunny fans want and deserve. On the surface there doesn't seem to be any genuine hunger or desire to get results, and whether consciously or not this surely has an effect on the team. It certainly does on the fans in my opinion. When you listen to Stewart Dickson, Cammy Brown, Neil Middleditch etc. there is no comparison at all.

I was so frustrated last night following the updates and just feel we completely missed an opportunity. Thankfully we got a good guest for a change, as usually we never have any luck with guests. But to me there doesn't seem to be a fire there that you see in other title contending teams. Another thing which I find particularly frustrating, and understand it cannot be helped but when riders are not available due to other commitments such as long track meetings, or meetings abroad. Just seems as if we are a low priority in comparison.

Hopefully Rob will build a strong side for next season and we can give it a good go both home and away. Even if we do make the play-offs, there will be 5 other teams that over the course of 2 legs, will be too strong for us anyway, although I will always try and remain optimistic. I am just simply expressing my frustration, and despite how it might sound I do not intend on "slagging" anyone off.

By jumping every start, I assume you mean trapping - because Broc Nicol wasn't rolling (with the exception of Heat 3).  It's not an offence to make good starts.

As for the final race, yes he did move, but that was triggered by Batchelor moving inside him first.  Batchelor didn't get a warning.  Mind you, this came from a ref who also penalised Gilkes in Heat 11 for touching the tapes, when I'm not sure if he did, to be honest!

Disappointing way for the evening to end from a Scunthorpe perspective and a shame because it was a great night of speedway until then. Would have been interesting to see if Nicol could have got the better of Batchelor and Nicholls in Heat 15, but thanks to the ref, we never got to find out!
