SharpenRake
Note the change in the start time. Heavy rain is forecast from 6pm onwards so sensibly the start time has been brought forward. Difficult one for the Tigers 3rd meeting in 3 days and Scunthorpe have a number of Ashfield track specialists. Just praying for a Tigers win! ScunnyDan
Would be pretty cool for lightning to strike twice! Can't see it happening tho.. 48 42 Tigers
Jaizer
Lambert at reserve and r/r for Palin could be a problem for us. Think Lambert got 19 or something that day from reserve

Posters asking about cut off date, whether it has been extended by a week, but unfair on teams that have got their meetings done & dusted. Will results count in the league placings after 17th September as that was the original date for play offs to start.

Was you there Fozzie? We were in front from heat 1 to 9 & made them use a T/S & was still level after heat 11! It was only because, again, shale left on the infield of the track when it would have been better used on the outside of the track bends giving us something a bit more to attack on. We struggled at the business end of the meeting where they stepped up. Simple!
Jaizer
A good win, some fantastic racing on a well prepared track and for those who wish to question whether cookie still has it I suggest have a look at heat 13. The same as a football match if it's 0-0 after 80 mins only for the away team to score 3 or4 goals in the last 10 minutes. It's a hammering. It's what's in the history books. archie21
And so to bed!! Another poor choice of guest 2 points from his rides, will scuni make the play offs its now in the hands of the other teams. With one home and one away meeting all we can do is hope. eide67
I took advantage of Glasgow not riding at home on a Friday to watch this one on the live stream as it's always a pleasure watching Cookie around Ashfield. Excellent meeting with lots of good heats and plenty of passing - heats 11 and 13 being the standouts. All the Glasgow team rode well and Broc Nicol deserved a lot more points than he got. Got to feel sorry for Jack Thomas in heat 11 - he rode brilliantly to pass Adam Ellis only to have Simon Lambert pass him as the 3 riders went down the back straight side by side, Ellis then got back past him before his team-mate Ricky Wells also went by and amazingly snatched second on the line. A lot of effort and skill from Jack for no points. For Scunthorpe Adam Ellis was a little disappointing but they were well served by Jorgensen and Lambert and the others were all involved in good tussles for the minor places. The stream also showed new Pole, Marcin Nowak, go out for a few practice laps after the meeting and he looked fast and stylish. I predict he'll be an exciting addition to the team and the re-modelled Tigers will be back challenging for the title. Just hope the re-modelled Monarchs can get themselves together quickly enough to join them in the play-offs.

Don't know about lightening but the rain started just around 7pm so a good call to call the meeting forward to 3pm. Some cracking racing as well. Well pleased for both Tom and Connor getting heat wins but to be fair the whole team put in a good shift and a mention for Jack Thomas for his efforts.
damosuzuki
Terrific meeting. Some outstanding racing. The final score shows it was comfortable in the end but scunny were very good value. Most enjoyable.

weejeemy
Was in 2 minds whether to go today or not. So glad I did. Lots of close racing. Pleased to see Cookie max , and excellent performances from the rest of the team. Young Jack was worth more than his 0,0,0.too.

Paulco
What a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon that was yesterday. We all know speedway has its problems , but when you get a superbly prepared track like that , two good teams giving their all , and for a change no rain , there isn't a better sporting spectacle in this country . After two relatively heavy away losses to probably the current best two sides in the league , there were a few nervous home fans in the stadium before the meeting . Scunthorpe didn't come just to make up the numbers , they gated well in the majority of the heats , but one thing we do have is a team full of racers and some of the passing yesterday was breathtaking . Craig Cook in that kind of form is a joy to watch round Ashfield , and Sam Jensen and Connor Bailey just get better and better . What the Pole brings to the party will determine whether we're good enough to challenge the likes of Poole, Leicester or Redcar over two legs , but if we get racing like that from now to the end of the season , its the best £17 for a sporting event out there . 6
