He's just taking the Woffinden route.

He's not like Dan Bewley who'd jump at the chance to ride in his home country again if the Poles allow him too.

Doyle & J. Holder for example show more loyalty to British Speedway than Lambert & Woffinden which says it all really.

Lambert will never be a World Champion.

He shouldn't turn his back on the country that developed him and gave him the opportunity in the first place.

British bosses stopped Dan from riding over here this year. Agreement in place with Belle Vue and the deal was approved by Wroclaw.

Make your mind up

Britain are the ones who really developed him through the ranks imo.

I remember when he used to ride for the KL young stars about 9/10 years ago.

Expand

It was germany that actually allowed him to progress, i wouldnt say this country really helped him at all.

Does this mean  Picko is staying..... From an article in todays Lynn News.

“I do believe with the base we have now and the groundwork that has been done if we keep five out of the seven riders, that will put us in a very good position for next year."

King’s Lynn Stars skipper Josh Pickering on season's biggest speedway win over Wolverhampton and cup final clashes with Sheffield (lynnnews.co.uk)

He did say he would like to be back.He actually said it would be a good team next season if all seven riders were back.He felt they would have done better this season if the seven they have now had started the season.I think many of us believe that would have been true. After he said it would be great to have all seven back,he then said even five would be a good start although we all know speedway is a numbers game.

Dan Bewley could have rode in the UK this year very easily. All he had to do was NOT ride in Sweden, just like Doyle and J Holder. Bewley is as loyal to UK speedway as Lambert or Woffinden. He just didn't have a British Title to his name until a week ago

Expand

He said he wanted to try a whole season in Sweden, perhaps he's done it and got it out of his system ready for his comeback next season ..... hopefully!

Completely agree, I just don't understand this "thirst for credibility" It's entertainment for crying out loud. But it's not just speedway, Football is a joke sport with its constant simulation, diving and feigning of injuries. Rugby is going the same way with it's "your tackle was 1cm too high, you're sent off" mentality.

Everything is manufactured to suit a bigger agenda these days, from News, x-factor, Bake off, and sport in general. People just need to accept speedway for what it is. 4 people doing 4 laps on bikes with no brakes. and enjoy it for that. If people continue to look for a virtuous outcome, they will find only crushing disappointment. (in everything)

Hehehe you're right about football wtf .......

What is funny with saying Germany helped Roberts progress. They helped a lot more than British speedway did when he was young.

100%, I'd argue British Speedway stagnated Robert Lambert when he was here. It wasn't until he went to Sweden & 2nd tier in Poland he kicked on again.

Now with Torun & GP's he's gone on again. Hopefully the progress will continue.

I'd argue the same with Dan Bewley. He was going stale & really struggled in Poland, until Woffinden stepped in & gave him equipment.

Both Lambert & Bewley have really really gone on to establish themselves as 'World Class' & they absolutely owe British Speedway nothing.

For any rider that wants to reach the top of the game, they have to leave this island & head to the greater Europe

Do Klindt and Jakobsen want to do a full year though?

The comment does say 5 of 7. Most likely these are the 2 that will be out. Replacements will be a struggle to find.

Pickering did say it would be great if all 7 could be back but as it's a numbers game it would be great if we could get at least 5 of the 7 back. Also Jakobsen said he has enjoyed his time at Lynn and i think he did say it would be good to come back.Klindt wasn't there for any comments.

I would have Klindt and Jakobsen back - both seem to have fitted in well and have that rarity at Lynn that they can gate!

A team of racers is all well and good as they can be exciting to watch but too many racers won't win anything.

I'd start with Klindt, Jakobsen, Picko plus Jack Thomas and build from there. Worrall is pretty consistent so ought to back too.

Jorgensen and Lawson are the real question marks for me as they are too inconsistent but do give 110% effort

I was worried about Lawson early on in the season. He had 3 HT wins in 32 rides. But he has improved a lot since. These figures will change, but at the moment Just for an idea ...

                                 R     1st     2nd     3rd     4th

Klindt 7.71         32     12       8          7         3

Picko 7.05          84    24        23        23      9

Lawson 6.27     89    23        32        18     10

Harris 8.41        111   48       21         28      9

I think Lawson on that kind of average isn't bad at all. If we can't get a big hitter, i'd be ok with  these 3  plus Freddie.... Added Harris. If i had to choose between Klindt or Harris i think i would go Klindt on current aves.

I would welcome Freddie back on 5.04 but will deffo rise after his 16 pointer the other night.
