So the contract for the use of Berwick stadium specifically says there shall be no use of track covers in any event and this can never be re-negotiated? And this too shall be applied to every stadium where they run dogs and/or football Weren't they used for some qualifier a few years back? Okay let’s spell it out… Berwick can use track covers… apart from when Berwick Rangers are playing at home, as you obviously cannot have track covers on when the football is on, due to quite straight forward health and safety reasons, with it being a massive slip/trip hazard, no problems with using track covers any other time, although they don’t use them as it takes a lot of people, a lot of time, to put them on and take them off, and Berwick haven’t got the volunteer numbers, although theres not been a meeting that could of been saved by them, so don’t know whether they would use them if the opportunity arose.

Although the season that the covers were used, saved more than half a dozen meetings. I remember speaking to one of the promoters at the time, who said it had basically saved the club from going under. The covers would be very handy to have again, but there seems to be a problem getting volunteers.
