Poole v Redcar. Championship. 11th August 2021

Recommended Posts

With Pirates now up to second in the league after our win at Newcastle yesterday, we move on to Wednesday and the visit of Redcar to Wimborne Road. Weather looks settled and warm and it might be the chance to see Poole go top of the league, depending on the Kent v Glasgow meeting tomorrow.

Rumour has it we will see the return of big hitting reserve Ben Cook after his leg injury.

Poole.

Should be 3 points but no complacency.

I’m sure Kent would love to have another crack at Glasgow with their improved team but that match took place a few weeks ago sadly - Tomorrow’s visitors are Edinburgh

As I'm sure Glasgow would love another crack at Edinburgh with Ulrich Ostergaard in the team.:t:

Meeting is Off due to stadium management contracting Covid!!Official statement  going out shortly

.... with on average 30,000 testing positive every day with more random testing & the passing of freedom day & schools on a summer break.

pretty sure when they shut the greyhounds they only retained two full time staff at the stadium dave phoebe deputy manager and a lady in the office (plus part timers in the car park)damm sure those duties could be covered easily also damm sure stadia uk wouldnt make any effort to help speedway, horrible firm run by horrible people

perhaps a little consideration for  those who tested positive with covid or is that to much to ask. ps its only a speedway meeting which can be run at a later date

If it had been a greyhound meeting, i fancy more effort would have been made to get it on

Presumably the Stadia UK Caretaker Manager (Dave) is the official Licensed Premises Supervisor - all large venues holding public events with alcohol must have one - so without him/her on site the stadium cannot operate.

Its unusual for a large venue to only have one LPS but as Stadia UK laid off all except a couple of staff then I guess its to be expected.
