Peterborough v Kings Lynn 5th August

Recommended Posts

Panthers entertain the Stars in the B fixture at Alwalton and recent changes to the Lynn team make it interesting.

Peterborough are again going rider replacement for Ulrich Ostergaard.

I would expect the changes to ensure a few from Lynn make the short journey up the A47.

Peterborough: Ulrich Ostergaard R/R, Bjarne Pedersen, Michael Palm Toft, Scott Nicholls, Chris Harris, Jordan Palin, Hans Andersen.

Kings Lynn: Richard Lawson, Ben Barker, Erik Riss, Lewis Kerr, Thomas Jorgensen, Connor Mountain, Kasper Andersen.

See you on a wet Tuesday night in the last week of October for the most important match of the season!

Ippo of as well... and Eastbourne on Saturday, unbelievable Jeff!

1 home match in July

1 home match in August

Absolutely ridiculous!

Far from ideal but not unusual given the other events at the showground.

Especially when you're limiting yourselves to Mondays or Thursdays only!

That is a slightly different issue. In 2018 when we ran on a Sunday afternoon we had a reasonable fixture list but still with significant gaps.

I'd say it's all part of the issue of not running a summer sport in the summer.

When is the play off deadline?

I know you have strong views on this but, with respect, you have never run speedway at the Showground. I have, three times, and understand the fixture issues as well as most. Put simply there is only one option for Peterborough. Accept gratefully the dates offered, or don't run.

I confess to being surprised by today's decisions, I just spoke to my parents and it's glorious in Alwalton; but I also trust the Peterborough promotion to have done their research and to be doing the right thing based the info in front of them. If the rain doesn't come that's unfortunate and will give you the opportunity to explain how poor the decion was - but it's not your (significant) money on the line. As i've said before, fixtures at the Showground are'nt cancelled without a compelling reason to do so.

I have no idea when the playoffs are.

You have to question whether they're running in the right league then, if they're already hamstrung by track availability to then further limit yourself by the madness of only being able to run on a Monday or Thursday seems a bit daft.

Looking at the forecast, it's for showers, so they may or may not arrive. It may be that they get "lucky" and are proved right or it maybe we're all sat at home on a sunny evening.

It's no way to run a sport though.
