Wolves v Belle Vue 26/07/2021

Recommended Posts

Teams from the Wolves web-site:-

WOLVERHAMPTON: Sam Masters, Broc Nicol, Nick Morris, Luke Becker, Rory Schlein, Ryan Douglas, Leon Flint.

BELLE VUE: Brady Kurtz, Richie Worrall, Steve Worrall, Charles Wright, Dan Bewley, Tom Brennan, Jye Etheridge.

Bonus for Wolves having Flint back. Nicol moves into the team and Douglas drops down. Does this strengthen or weaken Wolves ?

Not sure, neither of them rode particularly well against Ipswich.

Im looking forward to the trip down but dont have a lot of optimism for this one being honest, we are going to need the type of bounce back that we showed at Peterborough to get anything i think, is it now straightforward paying on the door? Some clubs still seem to be struggling.

For last weeks match you had the choice of buying a ticket in advance or paying on the door, in either cash or card. I paid on the door. Same for this week.

Cracking match. Thought the Aces were very unfortunate tonight. After the rain, only Bewley (and what a joy it is to watch him ride) looked at all comfortable. Before it they appeared in command, well-drilled, team riding splendidly, careful to ensure shared heats if a home rider got away. Clearly came for the victory and probably deserved it.
I take nothing away from Wolves who, when offered their opportunity by the weather gods, grabbed it by the throat. Good teams do that. Masters, Morris and Schlein were again full value and when Douglas and Becker turned their evening round late on, it was just about enough. But that was a real statement of intent from Belle Vue.

Edit: Good to see a healthy portion of Aces fans at the match; a cheerful bunch who added plenty of spirit to a good atmosphere. Safe journey home.

Had a lot to say, then nothing. Just curious as to why.

I believe he emigrated to Portugal, but I am sure he can us  put right on that if it is  incorrect. I wasn't at the match but noticed in the updates he praised Bewley, so hopefully his comments were fair.

Message him and ask him. I’m sure he will tell you.

Great to have people stepping forward to do the updates, we should be very grateful that people do.

And very fair in his reports too.

To be honest before hand most of us would have been delighted with a point as we didn’t think would keep it within 10 but in the end it was points lost.

The rain completely changed the track which Wolves (especially Douglas) adapted to better and another home team who used a tactical sub to win.

The racing was fantastic before the rain came, just like the Wolves track use to be years ago, an outside line and inside line that could be used for passing and no fallers!

Very good meeting with some good racing, far better than what people see on tv, the rain did seem to suit Wolves more than us but Douglas and Becker came to the party and who is to say they wouldnt have had it stayed dry? Our problem again was two under performing riders, i didnt expect anything from Kurtz so have not been disappointed, but Wright has been a major let down so far, nothing like the rider that won the British final and did so well at the GP in Cardiff, but a very good meeting very enjoyable and had a good chat with some Wolves fans who were top blokes.

To not expect anything from your no1. How crazy is that? They should be leading from the front. Maybe BV should go back to the days when they had a high scoring no1?

I have to agree Lisa, you should be expecting your number one to be leading the way and showing consistency, that i expected nothing and was underwhelmed by his signing didnt bode well. Lets hope those that say Bewley going to number one will relieve the pressure on Kurtz and he can pick up are right, but really in this weak league he should be doing far far better than  this.
