No one was expecting him back for a lot longer than this. But he fell off in his parade lap, broke down on a bike that sounded much like a lawnmower in his first heat after it cutting out on him before the tapes went up too, couldn't keep his front wheel down in his next 2 rides but looked brilliant to get a 5-1 with Ben in his last... More of his 4th ride and he'd be brilliant. I really do like Adam, but we all know how much he hates Brough too. His meeting against (Leicester??) Where he got 10 points from 4 rides... Shows he can do it
TotallyHonestJohn
Honestly I think it is called a Right Royal Pumping... Diamonds to slow from the gate... Bears much more positive.... better team definitely won... Redcar guests were brilliant and the Newcastle engine room at 3 and 4 just had no answer... just didnt fire at all... saying that I doubt we would have won even if Redcar had their usual 7 never mind the quality guests they utilised... My ball ache was the track... we got hauled over the coals for a dusty track and a couple of supposed rotted kick boards on the back straight from the Scunny meeting ref which resulted in the club having to employ "expert track curators"... well sorry... the track was worse and definitely dustier than the alleged problem Scunny meeting... and yes it's the same for both teams but to be fair the Redcar lads adapted to it much better than the home team... Still think if Redcar get their full side together for the run in to the end of the season that they will make the play offs no problem... they are a good team... The only consolation tonight is the Glasgow Tigers suffered a very rare home defeat so it can happen to.the best of them... even a quality side like Glasgow... and Leicester for that matter last night... Yep they did to be fair... around 2.30 they went out and done their track walk as I was standing talking to Alfie Bowtell in the pits when they went out... and I was back in my spot around 20 minutes later when they had reached the start gate... so they had all had a good look at the track... No excuses we got taken to the cleaners by a better team... Regards THJ Edited July 25, 2021 by TotallyHonestJohn

There’s a few hollow wins in Speedway judging by that comment.Should have survey at the end of season to see how many matches were run without guests. I am not buying this crap track business. Graham Trollope, is one of the best trackmen, in the country, (if not the best). The track was smooth and well watered, however it was grippy and on a tight track like Newcastle, it showed. Throttle control was needed and most of the Diamonds, didn't have that, they were so slow out of the starts, they had to try something harder. They ended up, just digging a bigger hole for themselves. Even Jake Allen, was enjoying himself by the end and he isn't a Brough fan.

Of course, it would have been better to have our own 1-7, but what are the options when you have 4 riders out, fill the places with juniours, and then be criticised for fielding a weakened team? Speedway can't afford to have squads so teams can cover injuries with their own riders. The Guest system isn't ideal, but it's better than the alternative. Absolutely, it was a cracking track on Friday. Not in any way responsible for the crashes.
Robinh88
Are the riders still struggling with tyres? Genuine question not on the wind up or looking to cause trouble.
Dandelion
I wouldn't say the track was crap, just different. Which DOES catch riders out when they're used to the same thing every week. Redcar adapted quicker and were the stronger team both on paper and shale, well done to them. The track was NOT crap, it's the best I've seen it racing wise for years. But if its gonna be different, the riders need different setups... the lads will have a full week now to figure them out.

Genuine question not on the wind up or looking to cause trouble. If they are having issues with tyres it was only one side struggling with them... IMHO it had nothing to do with tyres On the track... not sure where it was Grippy Charlie Wright put in the fastest time of the season passing Ben Barker up the back straight... also the James Grieves line was 2/3rds of the way out on the 1st and 2nd bends unless my memory is failing and no one goes out where Ludvig used to do his passing in the dirt on bends 3 and 4 as there is nothing there for anyone... no grip whatsoever... and everyone tries the Lemmo cut back on 4 hugging the inside line which can make it rather processional at times... 3 or 4 passes up the back straight which is unusual for Brough and Dickie Juul's advice in the pits must have been invaluable to Redcar... the dust was an issue for sure and the problem with a new track man for me is he potentially won't listen to the home riders and will prepare the track how he likes to see it not how the home riders want to see it... the issue may settle once the guys get dialled back in... and the dust will settle with more water on the track... Newcastle were just not good enough in every department... Redcar were better and stronger right through... it was a good old fashioned stuffing without a doubt... gating was an issue all night for the Diamonds with the exception of heat 15 when James Wright got a massive roller and still couldn't keep the lead... Also what's up with Max Clegg... his body language didn't seem right and on the track the effort just didn't seem there... has his head been turned? He seems to have gone right off the boil... The team is ripe for changes however is there anyone out there who can come in and significanty strengthen the team... some big decisions to be made... Finally I am not surprised any newbie liked what they saw as it was a master class of Speedway... passing with thrills and spills... good entertainment... only problem was it was all coming from the away side... Newcastle were just not at the races unfortunately... Regards THJ

Genuine question not on the wind up or looking to cause trouble. The tyres seem to have been a bigger issue for the fans than they have the riders. Once the riders learned they needed more air in them than the Mitas things tended to improve. They were actually turning down the spare new tyres last night with it being so slick. THJ - that outside line will come on cooler days when moisture can stay in the track for sure, and with it being smoother more riders will dare to go for it. Trollop will have got some tips off Jonny Swales on the prep too.
