Wolves v Sheffield

Not really they earned the point by recovering well against a good wolves team. We made a good choice of guest that made a difference but that’s speedway isn’t it we don’t usually have a good record with guests   It’s same for every team horses for corses. With Ipswich winning we drop a place so I wouldn’t say we were lucky

But quite clearly Bates would not have scored what Brennan did, based on his previous performance at Monmore, so therefore you were lucky to get the point.

That's four points the Tigers have had in the past four evenings, courtesy of the Witches and now the Aces...

Only the Stars, Panthers and Wolves left now...

(But not sure the Stars have anyone they would want to use)....:D

so do you want us to ride with six riders or must any guests not score points?

Possibly so  Scott Nichols got 10 for kings Lynn and worrall got 5+1 for Ipswich tonight. So if Nichols don’t get 10 kings Lynn get a bigger pasting and Worralls point help Ipswich get the win  it’s what happens in speedway. You either get a good guest or a bad one it’s the nature of the beast. So are you not expecting wolves to need a guest before the end of the season ? Swings and roundabouts always has been always will be

How about you replace him.

Is he really coming back?

He’s a danger to himself and everyone else, plenty more Rising Stars to choose from

Of course Wolves will need a guest at some point but that is not the point. Bates score tonight, based on his  previous performance would have have been zero and  Brennan scored 4 +3. Therefore quite simply, Sheffield were lucky that Bates was "unavailable". Of course that is not to take away from the rest of the Sheffield team which did well.

You're just miffed that we finished the meeting strong and took a bonus point.you wouldn't be saying anything if we'd have been hammered...;-)

Bates scored 2 on his last visit and this time Ellis and Holder scored 5 less between them   So Brennan scored 2 more than Bates   That was the last meeting this one is a new one. Somewhere you will get a guest who will get you a win or a point so I suppose that will be different from your perspective

That’s strange you’ve mentioned that because last week when I went to Peterborough the same Tom Brennan scored 4+2 and we got hammered but nobody battered an eye lid as to who replaced Bates yet as soon as we get points from our guests everyone starts bitching. Ipswich are using guests for Crump  some will score more than he would some will score less. He’s not the Crump he was scoring heavily every meeting as we can see by his scores

Praise to all concerned with the 15 heats being done and dusted in under 90 mins.  Rain was forecast for 9pm and for once arrived as scheduled!  Hopefully with the next home meeting being on Freedom Day we can see a return of a better crowd interaction and wave goodbye to the Covid Marshalls.  :t:

Regarding bates, ive heard he needs the plates in his back straightening so will be likely to be out for the season, hence leicester replacing him, sheffield though will use guests all year for him 100%

As a neutral, it was good to be back at Monmore and to see some action last night. The track was obviously prepared with the probability of rain in mind, so didn't seem to ride as well as usual, but the promotion are to be congratulated on getting through the proceedings just in time to miss the downpour. Downside for me though was the appalling so-called music played at a deafeningly high volume - do they really need to blast everyone's ear drums like this? Plus of course, the irritating performance of the centre green presenter which was as always, way over the top.

Sorry Brian, but going to have to completely disagree with you regards Porkie the presenter. He always helps to create an atmosphere and is very OTT. Don’t think there are many presenters around that have the same personality and charisma as Porkie. He always involves the travelling supporters and gets a bit of banter going. Sadly lacking in today’s presentation.

Can’t think of anyone better for the job.

Yea I get that, he is a like or loathe sort of presenter. At least he isn’t Peter Yorke!

I could just about put up with him if he would only stop bawling in the middle of the races. Fair enough if there is something exciting going on, but it doesn't have to be every single race. Does he think people can't see for themselves what's happening?
