IronScorpion Posted June 20, 2021 Report Share Posted June 20, 2021 Well, a lot of us did not see that result coming but what an end to another entertaining meeting with Glasgow capitulating at the end with a few dummies being spat out for heat 15 with their choice of riders( Managers decision to get the right riders with a point at stake even if they have to use different bikes). A poor showing by Glasgow's top riders & manager. Allen an excellent choice of guest, which I thought he would be, but when at the back in the first heat was always going to be filled in on a wet track with no one veering off the inside line. The track looked like it was prepared different to last week with a lot of shale on the landing strip in the centre green. This was probably due to the stock cars on Saturday night & more expected rainfall due that didn't fall. This led to the track not being moist enough with a lot of dust evident even after a light watering, which happened several times. As regards the new no 1, pleased but also sad as Auty is "Mr Scunthorpe" but if he gets his fitness back & head right(tyre issues), we might see him back this year but the other riders are doing enough to keep or improve their averages at the moment. As for Ostergaard I think he was carrying an injury after the crash in heat 9 wasn't the same after and seemed to be holding his wrist/hand area when walking back to pits. As for Scunny they'll certainly be stronger away from home with the change. May do Auty's career no harm with a change of scenery for a while too. Cracking meeting. phillwhitewasmad Posted June 20, 2021 Report Share Posted June 20, 2021 Great team effort by the scorpions today Jorgensen was superb Allen was a great number 1 lambert did more than was expected and Macdonald looked better on a slicker track and theo was his usual competitive self and picked up points when needed, jordan seemed to struggle with a bumpy track but out scored his opposite number , rr for tero was the biggest difference between the sides. It was as good a meeting as you will see entertaining from start to finish. The rule is that if you leave out a rider from your previous year's 1-7 at the start of the year, then try to bring that rider back in later, you need management committee approval. It could be called the "Peter Waite" rule because he made it public that he had left riders out and intended bringing them back. That's when the rule was written.
