Rob B
Multiple issues reported with the new Anlas tyres over the weekend, tyres are softer and seem to tear easily. Tonight at Belle Vue riders were given multiple tyres instead of the the usual 1 and there was still 2 'punctures'. Hearing there is a big meeting tomorrow between riders and SCB about the tyres. Also they seem to be effecting racing too, not sure if it's because riders not feeling comfortable on them. Have they caused any of the multiple injuries as well? stevehone
IF all the riders stick together then something might change, but that's a very big IF when push comes to shove
Mr Bump
Josh Bates was interviewed on the centre green after Leicester’s match yesterday and described them as “sh*t” Edited June 7, 2021 by Mr Bump
stevebrum
They seem to have been a lot of issues for riders this season with the tyres with plenty of shredded tyres on riders social media pages. Could be why riders are suddenly losing traction and causing untold falls and injuries so far this season.
bluebee
If the injuries continue then it can only be the next nail in the coffin. How long before riders with options elsewhere decide to give this country a miss. And who could blame them! We could be down to one smaller league very soon. False dawn
It does seem a bit strange. "We" adopt a new tyre across the board to save money. Now "we" appear to think it is necessary to allow riders to use 2 (or is it multiple?) tyres per meeting. The logic appears to be that one tyre is not capable of completing a normal meeting (not to mention 7 rides). How will this save money? Surely two cheap tyres are more expensive than one more durable one? I've seen an unusual number of tyre failures / flat tyres already this season. Seeing some of the pictures and listening to several riders, I have to wonder if the new tyre rulings are wise.

IainB
Maybe it's because these tyres were introduced in the GP's where a rider will be using a new tyre for every race, where we're trying to make them last a whole meeting, whether the "ingredients" are the same I don't know

Phil The Ace
They need changing back to the old tyres, rider are not safe on them and racing as been abysmal at belle vue this year, part of that is due to the tyres, im sure of it Edited June 8, 2021 by Phil The Ace

Most riders haven't "raced" in nearly 2 years, maybe a bit early to be blaming the tyres, who knows like you say may be part of the reason
Sings4Speedway
Getting the pld tyres back will be far from easy as Mitas are not exactly pleased with being shown the door. Fortunately we have the new poorly tested tyres which are substantially more expensive than the outgoing Mitas so if double the amount are needed its a big expenditure and guess where those costs will end up being passed on to....... He had plenty of ability but i reckon too many bad injuries now which has made him turn desperate and out of control which is a shame. KIRKYLANE
If enough riders complain, they should listen and let them go back to mitas
flagrag
I don’t think it is as simple as just saying going back to Mita’s tyres as British Speedway has signed a large commercial deal with Anlas for a certain quantity of tyres so it will need to be proved that they are not as specified in original contract. This is why SCB and FIM have become involved and have taken a number of tyres away for independent inspection
Noodles
Maybe they got the SGP rejects at a knock down price.
IronScorpion
I am not sure on this but doesn't a team get 7 new tyres & if using r/r, the spare gets passed around. Also in the rules it says you have to have 1 new Anlas tyre (marked with white line) & 1 old Mitas tyre up until a certain date(this may soon change)

Bald Bloke
2 tyres per rider. If a tyre cant do 2-3 races, it can't be fit for purpose, surely. Not forgetting the cost
