BELLE VUE v IPSWICH. 07.06.21

Recommended Posts

Looking forward to my next meeting as above.

Shame that Jason Crump is likely to be missing. When he rode for us at the dog track he was nothing short of phenomenal. 100% effort at all times and a great racer during his career. Although he does not reach this standard at the age of 45, he is still great to watch and still guarantees 100% effort.

I reckon Crump will be gutted to be missing this and the Witches will miss him too

20 point+ home win with a real risk of another mega mauling for the Witches unfortunately

What are the Witches going to do to replace Jason? All clubs riding so no one available, R/R or Craig Cook as a guest?

That is crazy! If they are going to have all the clubs riding on the same day then they need a mini squad system going on!

I think the Witches will score even less than they did at wolves,,,, bumper pay day for Aces riders

Are you doing SS mind games?! So when they get 42, you can say they did really well! ;) They definitely not going to get lower than 28!! Wolves are a fair bit ahead of BV atm, with everyone riding to their ability and they have a decent home advantage so can't really compare. King is pretty good at BV from what I remember from past British Finals. Not sure about the other Ippo riders though.

We will see,,, takes a certain type of rider to be good at NSS,, like it does Monmore,,, we are very short of those riders. We will also get a huge thumping at Sheffield

I would have thought the NSS is more of a fair track which is way BV don't get as much of a home advantage going? Though I haven't been there personally. I have been to Wolves and Sheffield though and they definitely have a home advantage!! Or you need poles and aussies in your team (Sheffield) or stay low or go wide at Wolves just not mid track!!

You probably right, seems most riders like the track with its many lines for over/under taking.

Just like Hyde road , you need a strong engine at the NSS . The vast majority of riders say what a good track the NSS  is... any rider worth his salt will ride it well..

I well remember Barry Brigs with the quote “ if you can not race at Hyde road , then you are no racer”...such was his liking for the track

The NSS track provides a fantastic theatre for racers to entertain to the highest levels.

in the first year at NSS , I was in the pits when Wolverhampton had their first match , Wolves were doing their track walk...as Peter Karlsson walked back in the pits , he turned to a team mate and said “  what a fantastic track” That was before he turned a wheel.

Nss is a fair track,,, but you need to be on the fastest bit,,, you can make passes inside or  outside as  meeting goes on. I don't think we have enough riders that can read the track,,, which is why they kept getting passed on the same bit of track on Monday.

I think we will get stuffed,, a good guest may help with the amount of bum cream they will need to use.

If I'm wrong please feel free to tell me after the meeting

Wolves is a lot more specialist than BV though. Looking at previous meetings scores I think they will do better than Wolves meeting. I would say, 35-40 ish. I'd be surprised if Ippo scores less than 28 which is what you originally said ;)

But not being able to have a guest for Crump could change my prediction slightly (if it is true that every team is riding on Mon - this is why you need odd number of teams in the league, I blame Swindon! :o)

If r/r who takes JC's rides?

Well I got my 35-40 prediction right! Ippo bit unlucky with the choice of guests.

Worst meeting I can remember at the NSS, heat 15 apart. An absolute snoozefest with the track seemingly having no grip at all.

Wonder if it has anything to do with the new tyres that all the riders seem to hate?? If it is then hopefully it’s rectified asap cos that really was beyond poor tonight.

Still, good win for the Aces though.

It’s been like that in all 3 meetings so far, the odd good race here and there but no where near as good as the past. Track looked fine and the racing is usually better the slicker it gets, I do think a lot of it is down to the tyres, riders getting use to them and no comfortable with them.

But race times are on a par with previous years, even dropping below 60 in heat 6!

Softer tyre means more grip and faster times (as Laguta found out in GP last year)  but they are wearing faster and tearing so don’t think riders feel comfortable on them.
