arnieg
Is Lawlor riding? He withdrew injured (old injury) last night.
Yearbyred
Jordan Palin replaces Lawlor apparently. Looking forward to being back at MPA, be interesting to see how the new boys take to the track. Hoping for Charles and Jordan to blow the early season cobwebs away. Monarchs have a few riders who ride the track well so should be a close meeting. Looking forward to getting some feedback as to how "Covid" protocols work. I was hoping there might be a Stream available, but I haven't seen any mention of a stream. Yearbyred
Well that was quite some reintroduction to speedway at Redcar. Afternoon speedway and warm dry weather are not a good combination and the massive dust issues meant too many breaks to try and sort the track out. Glad the next meeting is on an evening. Well done to the Monarchs on a fully deserved draw. To be honest going into Heat 15 I was fearing the worst as a Bears fan but Charlie finally rode like we know he can to keep the scores level. Masters was untroubled until the last heat, Worrall very good, Pickering only made one good gate but looked quick and guest Jordan Palin probably earned them an extra point with his last two rides. Thomson struggled on his first visit but wasn’t too far away by the end and the Monarchs looked a good team. For the Bears all the new boys had very encouraging home debuts - Sarjeant was excellent, Rowe looked good and Jordan Jenkins gated well and looks like a handy reserve. It was the more experienced riders who were below par - MPT and Allen struggled with the track at times and Jordan looks to be really struggling and a long way off how he was riding last year. Hopefully just start of the year rustiness. If we can get those 3 back to anywhere near last years (you know what I mean) form then we could have a very good team. Crowd to me looked actually bigger than usual but maybe having people on the backstraight and less in the grandstand made it look that way. Nice to see a few old faces and catch up.

Mr Blobby
Absolutely Fantastic result, great fight shown by the boys as well to come back and get a draw after conceding those 3 5-1s on the bounce. Need a little bit more from 1 or 2 of the boys, kye still finding his feet but he’s competitive which is the main thing the points will come. geoff100
Good meeting thought the ref messed up ht 2 as sarjent took his own man out all 4 back atleast, also both managers missed out ht 12 surely sarjent should have taken an extra ride ? Ht 10 monarchs should have used worrall as a tacsub?? And one last thought from a no it all masters would have been better off gate 3 in ht 15 head down and go instead of watching for worrell! Only allowed one Tac sub though and Masters was used in Heat 9.
Ringitsneck
Ref didn’t mess up, Sarjeant did, leaving Jenkins no where to go. It was bend 2 so no option of all 4 back. Decent match despite the track issues . Monarchs will feel they should have won , Bears will think they were lucky to get a draw with the way Masters and Worrall had been riding up till that last heat. Very similar to Fridays match in that respect. Palin was the key man for Monarchs , his last two rides turned the tables after the Bears looked on for a narrow but comfortable win. Think both teams will be in with a chance of the play offs but a number of riders from both sides looked as though they haven’t quite ‘dialled in’ yet but they will improve with matches.

Got to disagree over ht 2 decision classic case of all 4 back

Fortythirtyeight
The Ref, Mr.Breckon , was quite correct in his decision, bend two incident so no recourse for all four back. Sarjeant went wide when Jenkins was outside him leaving no space and he had to bail out. Jenkins was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. Another good match between two even sides who both have riders who look a little rusty but will get better with matches. Edinburgh will be very hard to beat at their place but Redcar have no home advantage as the track is fair to all so they will have to work that little bit harder to win matches comfortably at the MPA. I think I have to agree with geoff 100. The incident occurred mid bend (end of bend one and start point of bend 2). I have seen similar incidents many times, with the result being all 4 back. I have to admit, I thought it was harsh on Jordan. James needs to be more aware of where his partner is. I don't know wether I would say Michael Breckon made a mistake, but he was very harsh on Jordan.
