Reading CVS' programme notes from last Monday I would think that any meeting that can be realistically deferred to after June 21st with no crowd restrictions is almost a certainty!!  Not just at Wolves either...........!!

NO sure the casual TV viewer would be interested or understand points limits and averages. Keep it simple ...

This is part of the problem with Speedway, they treat the fans as 'thick'.

Keeping things simple is part of the problem with the sport coming across as boring.

To get people interested they have to be shown all aspects & show it's not just 4 blokes going round in circles 4 times

LOTS of things they can do without resorting to points limits ...

Ipswich had a crowd at least as large as normal on opening night. In the lucky position that the capacity still allows a crowd the envy of most at the best of times

Totally agree.

Points limits, averages, bonus points and so on are such a major part of the sport yet broadcasters brush it under the carpet as if it is some sort of embarassment.

It was this aspect of the sport that attracted to me to it in the first place. Thinking it needs  to be kept simple is a big mistake. Even if these things aren''t gone into in great detail they should at least get a mention.

Have to agree that some things should be standard requirements at a TV meeting.

IE

Team Riding order by TEAM MANAGERS and the reasons why.Any last minute team info/chat from managers themselves

Meeting referee name and info.

Coin Toss, who won and who opted for heat 15.DONE LIVE EVERYTIME,at the same time at the start of the meeting.

TELEPHONE  or radio commun with referee to be standard. All adds to the buzz and keeping fans live "in the moment" AND not second hand info when the comms can be bothered to give us the information.

What happened to the plan for track covers?

Didn't Berwick use them quite successfully on several occasions?

There are still a great many meetings called off due to 'damage done' well in advance of tapes up time, with the day/night of the meeting completely clear of rain...

Wouldn't using the TV money now provided to buy covers be a good way of improving the long term success of the sport?

TV companies pay a lot of set up money out to show live sport so would much prefer a higher chance of it taking place I would think.  (Especially when covering such sports that can be rain impacted)..

Covers may help gain further contracts as well as providing "unsure" fans with more confidence to attend...

The last TV contracts didn't appear to produce any tangible lasting improvements to the sport so maybe this one can?

Shame they cannot cover the 2nd division, they could have a meeting to show every week, things like this would be much better as a weekly show and quite frankly it’s not worth getting Eurosport if tv meetings are going to be sporadic.
