So after the initial 3 hour programme which, apart from the actual racing, was introductions, explanations and adverts, Monday nights transmission was cut back to 2 and a half hours and a very scaled back production. Abby presenting on her own, minimal interviews from "Brando".

The new deal was greeted with great fanfare and while glad and grateful to watch live British Speedway on TV last Monday's match was a far inferior programme than what was previously offered by Sky and BT Sport. Where was all of the detail and analysis that was promised and going into greater depth... a lot of the programme seemed to be the camera scanning the... erm... crowd, playing Where's Wally.

There was also some atrocious direction with the age old problem of the pictures cutting away to a close up of the leader on his own just as there was a move about to be pulled at the back.

It's Eurosport. It was always going to be an inferior production to Sky or BT. To be fair, considering it IS Eurosport, they're not doing too bad - although they do need to ensure they get the score right as it is a pretty key part of the meeting.

Quest were showing adverts for Peterborough v kings Lynn whereas the  meeting was wolves v sheffield

It was changed to Wolves so didn’t have to show Peterborough 2 weeks on trot. Eurosport seem to be useless at keeping their teams who look after TV guides and adverts etc updated.

I must admit that the TV production didn’t seem as good this week, with on screen graphic errors and some strange camera work and vision mixing showing close up of race leader while a pass is happening behind and lots of crowd shots which made it harder for Nigel and Kelvin to justify the gaps

I just wonder if Steve Saint who usually directs British and GP Speedway was away doing WRC this week and that is why production was not as per normal

They announced during the Panthers thrashing of Wolves on Monday that their next televised meeting will be in 2 weeks ie 28th June - Ippo v Wolves I think

Yep that's what was said. Nothing next Monday on Eurosport.  Plus Belle Vue - Sheffield is postponed anyway. Isn't it wonderful the options that a six team league gives???

STEVE was for the first time in his career the floor manager following Steve Brandon's unfortunate injury over the weekend

The comments I actually made Phil , Was about coverage the week before at Wolverhampton and the Peterborough coverage was a lot better. I just wish Steve would sort out with his OB provider Cloudbass what is going on with the start line camera as it looks like it’s coming from a 90s mobile phone so blurred and out of focus

Are all Eurosport matches going to be on a Monday?  Just wondered as looking at the latest amendment of the Sheffield fixture list, and they have no Monday home matches.

July 22 Sheffield v Peterborough on Eurosport on a Thursday.
