Whilst the money does have to come from somewhere why does it always have to be found by adding onto the admission price? Those antics are always a gamble as it can just as easily put people off from going. Take 1000 fans for example you could easily argue that 100 people would be put off by another price hike. That 100 missing paying £18 is the same as the other 900 paying £2 more except that you have 100 fans staying away.

Pretty much the Speedway business model up until around five years or so ago when I suppose it eventually dawned that it doesn't work..

For far too long it was "we have lost 'x' amount of fans due to the last inflation busting increase so increase admission by another inflation busting 'y' amount"...

Whilst all the time not spotting that the annual reduction in fans was destroying the atmosphere, whilst at the same time the inflation busting price hikes were peeing  off their most ardent loyalist fans,...

A 'lose/lose'.....

As one enlightened promoter once remarked what is the point in increasing admission fees if it results in a significant number of fans no longer attending.

£20 is my limit, if a booking fee takes it above that I won’t be going!

It seems to me that Buster doesn’t care to much about Kings Lynn now. So he won’t care if the crowd is big or not. According to today’s Speedway Star he would like to see Peterborough win some silverware.

The cars probably subsidise the speedway at Lynn, whereas Peterborough is a stand alone business.

Think we all no stock cars are no1 priority at KL and to be honest who can blame him - minimal expense maximum income where as Speedway maximum expense minimal income - and take in the extra worked of putting the safety barrier  and wooden boards up and taking them down - it’s Stocks all the way sadly

It won’t be until clubs know exactly how many people they are allowed to let in.

Not sure how many have read the Newcastle thread but the ticketing systems and arrangements could be a minefield if the same applies across thd board

Seems tickets are allocated in sets of 6 in line with the rule of 6 that applies. This means if someone buys a single ticket 1 block is allocated

This could mean a capacity of 2496 could mean an attendance of just 416 if all booked as single tickets!!

I sit behind you Mr Taps... but get to stadium at different times. As do most, if not all of our group. Would make sense that we book as a 6.... but will that happen? We tried to do that for doomed British Final but for whatever reason it didn't work. Are kids tickets included ?

Are we going to get a group of tickets? Me you taps pob and two others?

Wonder if the booking fee (presumably there will be one ) will be per booking as your hopefully booking as a group or per ticket ? And guessing no more than 6 in the group ? Rule of 6 ?

2nd bend beerhut that brings back memories! Me and my mates used to get our cans of Carlsberg from there back in the day when we were about 15 :D

Before the stands were built thats where i used to stand.

Must have liked warm beer.... but if you 15 then any beer would do i suppose! :drink:

Then there was the "food outlet" that had 2 queues, one for chips and the other for "potatoes" . I remember the times when the chips queue was huge but the other was empty, so used to go to the potato queue and ask for chips, after all what are chips made from ?

Jesus, Mary, Joseph and the wee Donkey. £20 to get into Saddlebow for Speedway.   The World’s gone mad.

I wonder how long it will be before the ‘use it or lose it’ cry will go out.

Where have you seen that?

Was responding to others suggestion of £20 with or without a booking fee.

Maybe it’s an age thing.  20 notes maybe doesn’t sound that much to the younger Speedway followers.  For me being older old git 20 quid just for admission seems rather expensive. It makes a trip to Saddlebow costing excess of £50 for me.
