Is a number 8 in the PL allowed to do the CL and NL? That's the question...

Would have thought so.  Or else no one would do it.

The No.8 is only going to get a ride if the Rising Star is injured or missing.  Surely no one is going to turn down a season of Championship or NL just to hang around on the off-chance of the RS getting injured.

That's what I was thinking too. But then they riding in 3 leagues technically. So can everyone do that now?

You’d think there needs to be a rule adjustment as a Prem no. 8 is unlikely to get many rides, if any. But with Mulford already signed up, it’s not fair to block him from riding NL when he’s only done 1 season and still has things to learn.

Premiership number 8’s can ride NDL. Dan Thompson will ride with Joe in the NDL.

Rather predictably only 4 of the 2021 team are returning & 3 new signings . 1 has Championship experience . 1 has NDL experience &  the other has been impressive at the practise days & youth racing so is handed his chance to impress.

So Thompson x 2, Spencer and Simpson. Foord & Perry leave just over 6 so Coles or RTD (probably the latter would be my guess).

Sounds plausible. Would Josh Embleton be another option for the final spot?

nothing to do with the MSDL as that will run on its own

With respect will that even be possible next season? There were 3 teams only this year (thanks to the board) of which Eastbourne aren't competing) so leaves Brum, Wolves (who will also be PJL) and possibly Kent?

A sad demise when it featured double figure entries 10 years ago

Teams got frozen out by the powers... madness, no wonder the sport is in ruins...

Just shows how important a decent NL is as before, with at least second half junior racing, even if it's not a league.

Hugely important.  Only got to look at the brits at CL to see that the vast majority came through MDL and NL. Today sought after riders like Hume, Thomas and Mountain served thier time setting up in the rough end of the pits and having countless meetings abandoned because they simply were an inconvenience to some. Todays annoying, turn up just for the laps riders may well be tomorrow's team saviours.

there may be other clubs entering teams in 2022 .... but this level of racing is important and the tracks that do run it are giving their fans more value for money at the same time as giving important track time to the youngsters coming through

I think the numbers speak for themselves, looking at NDL competitors last year i would estimate over 50% raced MDL in the past, the rest are made up from MJL or youth rounds with just a couple who i can't recall doing any dev leagues and heading straight into NL (doesn't mean they didn't do it just means i can't recall it). I personally think the leagues are vital for riders of all ages to develop and hone their skill sets and see if they are prepared for the rigours of full league racing, unless it starts to get further backing from the powers that be i fear the sport in general will decline further.
