Plymouth Gladiators 2021

Recommended Posts

If Plymouth are to enter the Championship in 2021 their options for riders seem fairly limited apart from some of ex Rebels of 2020.

Schlein? BWD? Anders Rowe? etc.

Would of thought Ben Barker would be a candidate but was quickly snapped up by Newcastle.

Adam Ellis and Rasmus Jensen are others I can think of but most of these options won't be cheap and 8+ averages. Seems to be a lack of 4,5,6 and 7 point riders available.

Are Ellis and Jensen not hog-tied due to Polish rules and therefore unavailable?

What about Nick Agertoft or Nicklas Porsing or if he is over here with Peterborough how about Hans Andersen as No1? Brits would be Anders Rowe Alfie Bowtell and Nathan Stonman and if he can be tempted back over what about our very own Swedish Geordie Ludvig Lindgren?

Just some ideas

I would have thought 'enry Atkins would be a strong contender for the rising star berth? Bowtell Could do a job but the big hitters are what's needed, can't help thinking BWD will be fixed up somewhere already and Roo Boy might want a few too many pennies?

rumour is there trying to get crump but on a 12 point ave will take too many points up

Not sure mac it could work and if true what a crowd pleaser... brilliant for the Championship... a 1* RS reserve is only 13 points used so 28 points for 5 more riders... yes they could work around that surely...

Bjarne Pedersen on anything more than 7 will be an awful signing.

Crump though would surely still pile the points in at this level.

Crump would definitley put bums on seats (thats if we are aloowed this season)  so all championship tracks would get a mini boost from this

Some really interesting comments on this post and it’s nice for us Plymouth fans to be able to post on the championship part of the forum.

the idea of crump going around the SBA is big but points allowed could be a stumbling point.

I think it would be harsh to have a go at us if we were not to put together a strong team considering most riders have already been put together a year ago.  Even Barker signed elsewhere for a guarantee pay check as it’s still not confirmed by the BSPA we are in this league.

I think the league are crazy that they haven't snapped Plymouth’s hand off to be in the league.  I think mark has been one of the most committed people to speedway over the last few years and the time and effort he’s put in deserved reward. He built a big new stand that cost good money he put a very competitive team together for last season national league team.

ive no doubt Plymouth with mark and mattie will put together a strong team even with the handicap of having to build the team a year after everyone else.

I think Atkins would be a good shout apart from that I’m going to need to check the confirmed teams to see who’s available.

If Plymouth were to be accepted in the championship & that's a big "IF" I don't think there are enough riders available to raise a competitive team. Look @ the proposed line-ups of Glasgow & Eastbourne. Using any riders not U.K. based will be a recipe for disaster in 2021!
