This event is dreadful.

Too many crap teams taking part.

Which teams? They all put in a good account yesterday, apart from Sweden who had pretty compelling mitigating circumstances (and Hellstrom-Bangs certainly did better than many expected).

I’m not entirely sure of the logic but that’s what the rules state - no replacement allowed!

Which makes sense if the rule is consistent - but it wasn’t.

Hellstrom-Bangs replaced Aspgren in the Re-run of heat 6. How did that happen? I didn’t understand that at all, especially given the other riders couldn’t be replaced later. Did anyone else notice that?

It is purely and simply - the U21 can replace injuries but not starting offences.

I _believe_ that happened from the start.  But the announcements throughout the meeting were either non-existent or wrong

He replaced a rider that was injured and not excluded.

I assume the problem for Sweden is not having anyone able to take part from outside the squad at short notice, but surely Woentin, their U-21 reserve, should be position to ride?  They are not going to achieve a thing, so at least giving him some track time at this level would mean they take something out of the weekend.

That and test's for covid to come into UK etc would not be possible I think

Have just heard the interview from Brando saying Woffinden is irreplaceable and Stead agreeing , I’m really hoping Dan Bewley goes out and is unbeaten and makes them eat their words.

after heat 3, Bewley did alright, he beat a Pole:approve:

It's not just about his ability; his experience and work behind the scenes is irreplaceable. Replacing a three-timw World Champ with a youngster making his major debut?

Poor man management in my opinion to imply Bewley isn’t up to itjust before he makes his debut.

Still Bewley answered any questions on the track:approve:

Just hope Dan wasn't watching the telly before he went out... or on the forums
