Ghostwalker
Antonio says to SVT sport that he has decided to retire.
topaz325
All the best Antonio , last season was tough for him , probably the right time.
Pinny
Superb talent and remember him bursting onto the scene well. I think it would be fair to say with his talent at a young age , he should of ended up with a world championship medal. was arguably the most exciting rider in the world around 2004/5/6ish. 5

salty
Sad he's leaving the sport, but glad he's fit and healthy. Loved watching him celebrate the title this year and have really enjoyed his riding over the years.
Ghostwalker
Svt made a short documentary about Antonio but unfortunately it's only available in Sweden. I'll post it anyway though: https://www.svtplay.se/video/29055502/rio-rocket-en-osannolik-speedwayresa "Speedwaysnack- hemma hos" video blog series also have three episodes with Antonio: Part 1: https://youtu.be/TJjk6PXagew Part 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6iDUsQ8DUo Part 3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Efifra2QDwA Edited November 13, 2020 by Ghostwalker
IainB
Seems a bit premature to me, I fancy he'll be back at some stage in the future. I think he's always struggled to handle the pressure at the highest level but I do think he could make a decent living riding in the Swedish, British and Danish Leagues and open meetings around Europe without the pressures of the GP and Polish Leagues and he'd probably enjoy it a hell of a lot more too.
Fromafar
Was a exciting talent at one time ,think his lack of Professionalism was his let down.

IainB
Rumours of his demise are greatly exaggerated! Was glad to see him riding in the Swedish League last week, as I mentioned earlier I think a spell in leagues with less pressure will do him the world as good as he's still very much a quality rider with years left in him yet

Lioness
The irony of comments in post 12 on that linked story I was never a fan of Lindback either tbh. Don’t think he had the attitude or guidance to match his ability. Just hope we aren’t reading about a downward spiral of his life in years to come

Still clearly remember that race, he stuck the bike in the middle of the track and never left that line for the whole 4 laps, was at least half a lap ahead by the chequered flag. Awesome ride.
