If you add together crowd levels of 1,000 for each PL & CL match and 500 for NL, throw in a GP and a challenge, KOC and individuals etc. I come up with 500,000 placing us at No 1 It doesn’t because you are mixing up sporting events with sports. norbold
No mention of table tennis anywhere. As a participation sport it must be right up there, though as a spectator sport, probably less than speedway.

The reason I ask is that I have been thinking about darts in the US, and also speedway. One thing about American dart players is that unlike the British, the vast majority of American players (both league players and national circuit players) aren't interested in watching darts. We can see from posts here on the BSF that there are many who claim to be "speedway fans", yet refuse to watch speedway on tv (notably GP's). I wonder if other sports have the same issue? I think a lot of table tennis players are just interested in playing themselves rather than going to watch it live or even on TV. I don't think it's a matter of "refusing" to watch, it's just a lack of general interest in the wider world of table tennis.

What I find sad is that dart players keep bleating about how it should be more popular, and should be on TV, but aren't interested in helping the cause. I hadn't really thought about that in other sports until you mentioned it. Only in speedway will fans "refuse" to watch the sport they supposedly love!
Hacksaw Jim Duggan
I would expect Speedway to have slightly skewed viewing figures in this country v most other sports.....who illegally streams speedway.....next to no one I would assume, does speedway have a stand alone app like some American sports, nope. It would be well, well down the list of sports, you only have to attend a meeting (when that is actually possible) to see that, it is a dreg sport picked up in a day age when content is needed, but then so is Kabaddi.
